I'm surprised to see that the Hawaii booth is returning. It seems like in the past years that I've visited, there's been only one region of the USA represented each year. It's kind of nice that we'll get both Hawaii and Florida this year.

If I were a vegan, I'd be pretty disappointed with the Terra booth. Fake meat and fake dairy aren't necessary when there are so many good grains, nuts, produce, etc. that is naturally vegan.

Since not a lot has changed between this year and last, I thought I'd post some photos of returning items that I tried last year. The Swedish Chef Vinylmation character appears in all of them to show scale (and because he's funny).

The lamb chop dish has changed this year. Last year's, with potato goat cheese salad and shiraz reduction, was delicious. I think this year's mint pesto will be even better, though.

Belgium

The steamed mussels dish is changing this year too. Pictured is last year's offering with roasted garlic cream. I'll probably like this year's beer broth, but I'll miss the garlic cream too. Also shown in this photo is Leffe beer.

Jerk Spiced Chicken Drumstick with Mango Salsa

Ropa Vieja. I see that this year it's being served with cilantro rice. My fiancé won't like that, but I will. The drink pictured is the frozen rock coconut mojito, which I don't think is returning this year. That's okay. I think I'll like the Bacardi Torched Cherry Limeade more.

Fondue with baguette. The beer you get a glimpse of in the corner was the best beer from last year's Brewer's Collection booth, the Braufactum Roog. Sadly, that beer not returning.

I'm looking over the Craft Beer booth selection for this year, and I am thoroughly disappointed. Most of it was there last year, and I wasn't very impressed with that selection, either. It was awesome two years ago, so I don't know why they decided to keep such a lackluster line-up this year. The Sierra Nevada Pale Ale? Seriously? It's available pretty much everywhere on property. It's a good beer and all, but how about a bit more effort.

And the absence of the BraufuctuM Roog from this year's Brewer's Collection is a huge oversight. That was easily the best beer in last year's festival, bar none. I can't find it anywhere, and I was really looking forward to having a couple or several on this upcoming trip. Despite this, it looks like Brewer's collection wins again this year. Better selection and better beers.

Well, folks, there's my brief beer report. Feel free to carry on with whatever else you were doing before this interruption.

Ravioli di Formaggio All’emiliana. Terrible. Which is why this photo showcases its little microwave TV dinner tray more than the food inside it.

I have no pictures for Japan. It appears the menu has been completely revamped for this year. It's one of my favorite booths and I'm looking forward to all the new offerings.

Mexico

Crispy Shrimp Taco with Chipotle Lime Mayo and Cabbage, Strawberry Lime Margarita on the Rocks

Last year's beef taco was served with ribeye. This year's will be tenderloin. We'll see whether it's an improvement or a step back.

Morocco

Kefta Pocket (Ground Seasoned Beef in a Pita Pocket). Sorry it's such an unappetizing photo.

New Zealand

Seared Sea Scallop with Kumara Red Curry Puree and Apple Radish Salad. One of my most anticipated items from last year was also one of the most disappointing.

I have no photos for Poland either. The kielbasa and pierogis have been a staple for a few years now, but we skipped them last year. The Strawberry Balsamic Chiller from the last couple years has been replaced with a frozen lemon apple "tea." We'll definitely be trying that.

Scandinavia

Singapore Sling. Godawful.

I don't have any relevant photos for South Africa. I was really looking forward to last year's bunny chow and was let down. I'm happy to see that they've replaced it with a spinach and paneer cheese pocket.

South Korea

I'm posting this publicly so that I have to hold myself to it: This year, I'm making it a personal goal to try more wine at the festival. And not just my usual oaked chardonnays and sparkling whites, either.

May I ask- about how much you budget for this? I think it's awesome, but hubby disagrees. Oh well, maybe some day I'll make a "ladies only" trip w/ my friend around that time. Salute!

Oh, no way. That was five days of "brunching" from like 11am to 2 or 3pm, and we shared almost everything we ordered. I would say that we spent about $75-$100 per person per day on food and drinks. The drinks really add up! Not everything that we had is pictured in this thread.
