Are we seriously turning a thread celebrating the return of this show (potentially) into a debate on the definitions of incline and decline?

I am glad the show is back even if it is on a smaller scale and we have no idea how long it will last. But really? How much is there to discuss? Do you really want a thread that consists entirely of "woo hoo they brought it back - sort of..."?

I think a discussion of declining by degrees and all that entails is appropriate when discussing a show that was discontinued and has been brought back to life (in a reduced capacity).

If it's 80 degrees in temperature one day, drops to 74 the next, and the back to 80 the following it's considered an incline. Same concept here.

I haven't personally seen it. But I have read accounts from people who claim to have seen it in the last week.

My oldest saw the sword in a random picture while daddy was looking at a WDW related site and ever since she has desperately wanted to yank that thing out. If she gets a chance (which at the time I thought was impossible) no one will be happier than me. I'm going to need to start calling around to see if I can arrange this somehow.

No. If zero is the baseline and something was at... let's say "1" then drops to zero. That would be a decline placing the ticker at "0." Remove another item and you are at "-1" making it a decline whilst adding "1" back to it to place it back 0 or the baseline. That is a physical incline returning to the baseline which is NOT an increase. Math owns society.

Everything has a time dimension - you just take a conveniently narrow one to make it look good. Using the same logic you can change the time dimension and show it's not an incline, but still a decline. Reality is those using common sense understand that taking away, and giving some back is not moving forward or advancing.

I've used my "awesome" paint skills to show you what I'm talking about. Whether you start with a week ago, or 40 years ago it's an inclination.

So you are adding time and turing an incline into a decline? I'd like to see a 3D graph of that, but not sure what you'd use for your independent and dependent variables. If you figure it out, please post the graph.

It's quite simple.. when you take two points to draw your line. It matters which two points in time you take. If you use last month and today.. you will get a different line then if you used Jan 1 2004, and today.

It's this type of pandering to whatever Disney will throw your way that reinforces the choices the company makes. You are happy to get 'anything'.

I don't mean that we should rejoice and pat everyone at TDO on the back, but I like things moving in the right direction instead of 'downward'. You have to stop the cuts first and start adding next. I like the return of things (gysers, Sword in Stone), along with new things like Tangled Courtyard, FLE, etc.

The express of 'throw them a bone...' seems fitting here. People happy to get anything.. instead of having some standards.

It's still inferior to what they took away and really there is nothing but themselves keeping them from returning what they had or improving upon it. You act like it will take time for them to get it all together and they'll slowly add to it. This isn't Mt Rushmore.. it's a simple stage show they performed for many years.

People might as well be jumping up and down over the Stitch stage because the 'improved' upon the horrible show they started with by killing it and replacing it with slightly less bad shows. Instead of just accepting the stage and it's shows were just bad ideas to start with.. and get rid of them and move on.
