why cant the yeti stand up with both arms up in the air and look like he is going to attack like that if they dont want props flying over peoples heads??? Maybe we could have taco tuesday yeti were he expels gas (oh wait they would have to fix the mist machine and move it) lol

Yeah I've got to admit Disco Yeti is much better than whatever it is they are doing now. Maybe they are working on some aspect, maybe they are makIng it really bad now so when Disco Yeti returns it will be an improvement or maybe whoever made the decision has completely lost their mind. There really is no telling.

Yeti looked worse than ever last week. Can't believe the ride is still open with its star in such bad shape, to be honest....

I rode Everest today, and the yeti was visible but only in silhouette, more or less. What really struck me as odd though, is the bamboo trees along the ride's track appear to have been chopped down to stubs. So much is bare now that you can clearly see the train barn and some other backstage areas, like the road behind Everest.
I find it ironic that they did this at Disney's Animal Kingdom, where right next door is Kali River Rapids, a ride with a message of anti-deforestation.

I've always been a bit mystified by the interest in getting the Yeti character moving. How can it possibly make any difference whether it actually moves or if they keep up the strobe effects to make it look like he's moving? At that point in the ride, you're moving so quickly past it that you can barely get a 1-2 second glimpse of it anyway.
Have you ever seen the yeti in A mode?

It does... but not as much as the hype of "the legend of the working yeti" would lead you to believe.
I ride it because its a roller coaster and I like roller coasters... if the yeti worked again, I wouldn't suddenly want to ride it more.

I'm sure everyone has a similar story but I was talking to my friend at work and he recently went to WDW and was raving about EE and I asked him how cool the Yeti was at the end of the ride and he said, "What Yeti?". It's just really sad and takes away a huge portion of the thrill and story trying to be told from the ride. I really hope they fix it, as does every other person on this forum.

Isn't the story about an expedition to encounter the Yeti? The whole queue is filled with Yeti artifacts and supposed pictures, I think the story lends itself to encounter the Yeti face-to-face, and no, the silhouette little video thing of him does not count. It takes away a huge portion of the thrill because my whole body coursed with adrenaline when I saw that gigantic monster swing his enormous fist at our car as we passed underneath him, narrowly escaping.

The story isn't technically ruined because you still see him, but the impact of the encounter is.

But you really don't see him. I mean, we see him because we know he's there but the average Disney guest may have no clue. Like I said in my original post, my friend asked "What Yeti?" in response to my question about the current state of the Yeti. The story isn't ruined but it's significance is largely diminshed, in my opinion.

The average Disney guest has no clue about anything. It's a minor miracle some of them can even handle getting in the park. Disney shouldn't use their lack of knowledge as an excuse

This is true. Like I said in another thread, there's a good number of Disney guests that thought Test Track was about racing.

But wouldn't the average Disney guest enjoy seeing a fully working Yeti also? It adds to the overall experience. I don't see how/why this turned into an argument. We all think the Yeti should be fixed. I just feel that the Yeti should be a top priority because it adds a whole lot to the experience.
