I didn't see another thread on this, but I'm still getting used to some of the format on here. =)

Anyway, supposedly theres a new site or something just for Disney Family Deals:

I got an email about it from Mouse Misers. Anyone know about this? Is it old news? LOL!

I got the email from Mousemisers as well - and quickly went to sign up and follow Disney Family Deals on Twitter. The website isn't active yet, they are just signing people up, so it must be new news! I was intrigued by the mention on vacation offers - always on the lookout for those!

But this isn't a travel agency. Well, Mousemisers is but they are linking to a site that is Disney official (or at least it looks it lol).

Here's the actual link to the new "deal" site: http://www.disneyfamilydeals.com/
That is a different site than what was linked. That certainly looks like an official site. That being said, any deal posted there will more than likely still be available to pretty much anyone. At most they might put in some sort of stipulation that there must be one guest under 18 to be a "family" but given Disney's loose definition of family I do not see them doing that. If I had to guess they will just be sending out the same promotions that we always hear about with a family marketing angle mixed in. At most they might do PIN code type promotions.

That's kind of what I was thinking. I was envisioning similar promotions to the PIN code type things but with a family focus. Something where like maybe including promotions for free matching ear hats for everyone in the family or whatever.

Looks to me it will be a way for them to unload their merch that isn't selling. And even non-Disney stuff as well.
Find fantastic offers on Disney toys, vacations, clothing, collectibles, music, videos, and more!
Plus: Discover other fun, family-friendly products, services, and activities in your city or online — with special, limited-time discounts.
Looks to me like they are hopping on the Woot!/Groupon/LivingSocial bandwagon. Either going to have a limited number of items at some discounted price, or a larger number of local "experiences" (for lack of a better term for local dining/entertainment) at a price only if so many get sold. I wouldn't be too surprised if they tossed out a very very limited number of trips at a big discount, just to build up hype. Send out emails to all the mommy blogs "Disney Deals site launching with a 7 day/6 night trip for a family of 4 for only $500!!*

*-Supplies of this item may be extremely limited"

All the mommy blogs frantically post about this great new site that Disney is launching, getting lots of moms (and dads) to check it out.

Most people overlook the little fine print, they get tons of site visits from people hoping to snag that same great trip deal, and instead get suckered into buying that cute Merida toy their child wanted. Or a 40% off MSRP gift certificate to a local restaurant that they wanted to try.
