Disney resort buses POFQ

It's the best/fastest bus service of all the resorts I've stayed at.
Both times we were there the buses to MK were non-stops - not shared with POR, and POFQ itself has only the 1 stop.

We never had a problem from the resort but, for some reason leaving epcot every night was a disaster! Every other resort but was there in numbers, our line was 4 rows deep and only one bus would come at a time. A few times we just caught a cab.

We are staying at PORS and from what I have been told via the boards and my research is that usually there are seperate buses to MK but the rest share with POFQ. FQ is picked up first and then PORS. I hope that helps!

Only My Choice.

Why the Riverside ? We stayed here when it was Dixie Landings and thought we would try FQ:wave:

Ok,everyone has their favourites. We stayed at the FQ on our 2nd vacation and loved it even better than CBR,then we stayed at RS and Parterre Place.WOW. It was like being transported back in time to Gone with the Wind.Lots have changed since Dixie Landings. However this is only my choice. You will enjoy FQ and it's only a short stroll to RS if you want to check it out.

We stayed at Riverside last year and the experience of getting back from MK was the worst in my 5 visits there. We queued for almost an hour to get a bus back to the resort with people pushing in left, right and centre. You want my opinion? If i were you, i would look at the Brit's Guide to Orlando and check out the quieter days section. At all other Disney sites, we didn't have any trouble whatsoever getting a bus ride home using their system. Good luck!!!!

Sorry to hear that, one hour for a bus?We go in July and it's busy and I mean busy, never had to wait more than twenty minutes at MK for a bus to PORS.If you leave MK right after Wishes, yes,it's like a concert crowd heading for the bus after the last song. Two things to do,head for the bus just as Wishes are finishing or wait 30 mins after wishes.

POFQ has absolutely the best bus transportation to and from the parks...same half hour schedule to DTD, but you can use the boats as well...

I don't stay at any resort except POFQ anymore. You will be very happy with bus service there.

For the most part, I'd say that the bus service to and from resorts is completely dependent upon many factors (such as time of day, park activity, hotel vacancies, etc.) and that every resort is more or less even over the long haul, but in all of the resorts I've stayed in or traveled to and from, French Quarter has a noticeably better quality of bus service.

I'd say that it's the size of the resort and that in busier times of the day or at busier parks, they get their own independent loop. That factor alone contributes immensely to the efficiency of their system.

How much better is it? Well, I guess in some cases it's only marginally better, but compared a sprawling resort like Caribbean Beach or an extended loop like the one that all of the Epcot area resorts share, it's downright quick.

I was not impressed with the bus service at POFQ, I didn't like that we had to sit through the multiple stops at Riverside in order to get to the park. That said, after the first day of riding the bus we chose to drive since we had that option. I don't know if FQ always shares a bus with RS or they shared because it was a slower time of the year (February.) That trip was my only one as an adult and on property so I really have nothing to compare it to.

it depends on what time of year and which park you're headed to...sometimes you don't share with por but sometimes you do. i've noticed at christmas time they don't seem to share until the very end of emh (in general), during food and wine we shared with them the whole trip. one summer we didn't share with another resort but we stopped at one of the water parks each trip. we just stayed at por in mid march this year and we did share with pofq. when you do share with por, pofq is always the first pick up and first drop off...with that you get first dips on seats but you also sit through the 4 stops of por picking people up. it's really no different than being at cbr or csr...you make 4-5 stops each trip there too, or worse if you've ever stayed at bwi you'll agree how much fun it is sharing a mk bus with swan, dolphin, yacht, and beach EVERY trip and guess which resort is always last?

Both resorts are good, but riverside is in our opinion better of the two, hence why we have stayed so many times there.

The bus service between the resorts and the parks is pretty good, and problems often over-exaggerated. FQ, as has been mentioned already, has the advantage as you are first on going to the parks, and first off coming home.

Buses to MK as you have seen are separate - except at quieter times you may find its shared.
Buses from EPCOT at night can be separate depending on time of year / hotel capacity.

Remember, because the resorts are next to each other, if at the parks one bus is taking its time to come, then hop on a bus for the other resort and either walk or get the boat between them. I did that a couple of times last year out of MK - although in the end I didn't save myself a huge deal of time.

If there is a delay at the park, I just walk to the dispatcher and ask when we can next expect a bus, as sometimes the system seems to miss one out, and so they can allocate the next bus. At night, you may have a longer wait as you tend to find they'll wait for the low floor buses to serve RS and FQ as they have a larger capacity - that of course is dependant on people moving to the back and standing two abreast in the middle!

We stay in the first couple weeks of July, and only a couple times over teh two weeks during the day would we find a longer than 20 minute wait from the resort.

The other thing to consider is people have different tolerances when it comes to waiting and what they think is poor - such as sharing with a resort. The loop around Riverside doesn't take that long - 10-15mins tops - so long as no wheelchairs which add time. While some from FQ might moan at having to go round, its a godsend for those RS guests who are around the perimiter and saves them a long walk from the front entrance. Of course, it is worth remembering that the EPCOT resorts share buses to the parks, and that is a much bigger time going around the resorts that POR. The same can be said for the MK resorts to Downtown and some other parks like MGM. And those guests are paying much more than we are.
