As a company and a vacation spot what are Disneys Strenghts?

Being in business myself, I always like to hear positive feedback from our customers. It is good for the spirit and makes you proud

One thing I do applaud Disney is being able to feed the masses with a consistent quality. Every year we painstaking go through our ADR's to make sure we try something different. To this day we have not yet had a BAD meal. Yes , we have had some issues with service or ambience but the food was always "good".

So I am curious, what do you all think Disney excels at ? Customer service, innovative ideas, great themes,great rides, marketing etc ??

1. Definitely the quality of their food and drinks
2. The serivce that the managers provide is usually always top notch (they seem to want to go above and beyond for the guest, which is what it's all about)
3. Their creativity (rides, hotels, ect..)
4. Their progress and exspansion, they "keep moving forward" always planning for bigger, better, and exciting things
5. Their role play. I love the sayings that the cast members use like "welcome home" "have a magical day" it truley feels magical
6. Their firework shoes (AMAZING)
7. Their hotels have always been exciting, rooms have always been clean and service has always been excellent.

Well for me it's the whole package,a vacation that some people only dream of doing.The only problem is after your first visit,you want more.:ROFLOL:

I have to agree with you on "Role Playing"...it really does make you feel like you are in a very special place. I would also add the music that is being piped in around the World as part of the Role Playing experience.

I am not sure what you mean by this?? I rarely see recycle bins around the parks for plastic bottles or paper products. Especially around the resorts and bus stops. Sadly I think Disney could do much better in the area of recycling

State of the art, larger than life animatronics that bring mystical creatures to life.

In all seriousness, for me Disney has always been a place to escape reality. No other place can bring you to so many magical places all in the same resort area. Overall (not in every case) the care and thought of the theme, is 2nd to no one. From the detail in the restaurants, to the theming of a land like Asia in the AK, to all of the crazy detail of a tower of terror. You wont find a place that can transport you to another time and place like Disney can.

I am not sure what you mean by this?? I rarely see recycle bins around the parks for plastic bottles or paper products. Especially around the resorts and bus stops. Sadly I think Disney could do much better in the area of recycling

For an example, over the past few years, Disney has tried to decrease their energy use by 10% compared to their average 2006 levels by using energy efficient lightbulbs and switching to LEDs. I believe as of this past December they were able to actually reduce by 16%, and that isn't just a year average, that is December the month that they have all their Christmas lights up everywhere. I'd say that is pretty good.

Disney also does have recycling cans out in the parks. They water their lawns and gardens with "reclaimed water". The new toilets in Fantasyland use "reclaimed water" as well. All the automatic sinks in the bathrooms actually help reduce water waste as well. Disney recycles lots of things from Fastpass tickets to equipment, etc. Disney isn't perfect at it, but as a company, they do a pretty good job at taking steps to be environmentally friendly.

Whether they swiched to LED's for finacial reasons or environmental is the question but what ever the reason, it is a win-win situation and the right choice.

we are pretty avid recyclers..(not the crazy ones or anything ) I agree Disney is not perfect and I am not asking for that, but the recycling bins around the parks are far in between. The rooms should have a recycle bin. (there are none in POFQ rooms). We throw platic bottle and daily reciepts in the garbage because of no bin . There have been years i brought home the plastic bottle and papers to recycle.

You are right, they do good job comparing to other companies out there but there is still room for improvement.

Being a Louisianan means you are a "foodie" by default and being teachers on a shoestring budget, means we are also fast food experts!:lol: WDW's Quick Service is fantastic compared to any other fast food restaurant. We rarely eat at WDW's table service restaurants, but recently I took my niece to Cinderella's Royal Table and it was delicious! The Flame Tree BBQ at DAK is outstanding, but since my DD is a CPCM there, I might be biased, but I don't think so!

it is IMPOSSIBLE for me to have amnesia when I am on vacation...

let's say I am at Le Cellier and I notice poutine on the menu! I say to myself, yes... tasty beyond measurement, and I hark back to my days in Montreal or Smokes Poutinerie in Toronto and across Canada... and then I am served their version of poutine.

1.) It's not that I am "dissatisfied" but I can't help hark back to memories and what I consider a "standard"
2.) I've never had a meal at WDW that I can say "wow, I can't get that at home"... because I can, it's better and cheaper as well.

I won't complain on price though, you are paying for more than a meal... atmosphere and theme come into play, which I definitely enjoy but at the end of the day a meal is supposed to be focused on the actual food, right?

I whole heartily agree. One of my only complaints of Disney used to be food quality. It has become better but its still just average in my book. It doesnt bother me anymore because I came to realize that its about the whole experience not just the food. When you live in an area that has access to extremely great food it spoils you a bit. :lol:

word to the wise...do not ever say Toronto and poutine in the same phrase. Poutine is a montreal(Quebec) thing...rest of Canada do not know how to make it. It is like saying Boston and New York are the same people (i am having fun by the way )

But seriously, I have to honestly say I have not had a bad meal at Disney. Granted there has been some places that have been average and more about the atmosphere (Marrakesh being one) but there are others like Sanaa where the food is quite original. But you have to remember where you are..Disney..where they feed thousands upon thousands of people. It would be quite difficult to serve amazing meals because at the end of the day, someone will be dissapointed. That being said, I do not think they deserve an overall negative opinion about the food at the parks.
