I have stayed at the other two mods, but never here. For years, I have read people rave about it on this forum, so I am going to give it a shot. I have really enjoyd CSR the last couple of years, but the allure of trying something new is too much to overcome.

I went with Riverside, requested Magnolia Manor. They look pretty cool. Your thoughts?

Any specialities I should try food wise? We are on DDP.

We will have a car. How is Bus service? Is it shared between the two POR's? Is Epcot as short of a car ride as it looks like on a map, or is it one of those things were you have to go round about to get to the other side of the park to get to the parking toll booths? Is the studios a short drive too?

We stayed at POR in the Magnolia Terrace section last September and loved it. Our room was on the 3rd floor overlooking the gazebo & Sassgagoula (spelling?) River. It was a short walk to Ole Man Island and food court and short walk to East Depot to catch the bus. We didnt have any issues with the bus system at all. They do share a bus sometimes but POFQ only has one stop so it was no big deal when we did share. One of the best surprises was Boatwright's! We didn't plan on eating there but made some last minute changes our last night to have dinner there so we could have an earlier night. So glad we did...it was one of our favorite meals the whole trip. Everything is just so relaxing and laid back! I really think you'll love it!

We have stayed twice at POR, both times in alligator bayou. We have also stayed at POFQ and have liked both resorts. Bus service was good the first stay but more crowded the second time around. It probably was the location of our room and the fact that the second time we had to use a different stop. Neither trip required shared busses with POFQ. The boat service to DTD was also nice and relaxing. I would rate both Port Orleans resorts above the other moderates. Although we always have a car, we usually park it the day we arrive and don't move it again until we leave..so I cannot tell you about the drive to Epcot.

I realize I sound like a "broken record" but Riverside is my favorite! In April, we will be staying for the 8th time at POR and the 9th will be in August! We have always been very fortunate with the bus system there and have no complaints. The grounds are incredible, food court is great, and the water taxi to DTD is awesome!

Just stayed there for the first time a couple weeks ago and loved it!! We also requested Magnolia Bend and were put in Acadian House. Newly refurbed, it was clean and so nice. We rented a car, so we drove from Acadian to the main building whenever we needed to. Riverside Mill was great for breakfast, wish I'd had time to try it for lunch. I will definitely stay there again. Hope you enjoy it!

Have a great stay! The drive to EPCOT or DHS is relatively simple and quick. POR is adding some new items to the menu at Boatwrights as well as the River Roost lounge. The make your own pasta in the food court is a personal favorite. The rooms in building 85 (Magnolia) have all been refurbished and are quite nice. There is a non-Disney website that does a great job providing information about the resort: www.portorleans.org. Enjoy!

We always stay at PORS. We love it. I would recommend Boatwright's. It's a nice hidden gem restaurant wise. I get the prime rib and it never disappoints. My best advice is to slow down while you are there and enjoy the scenery and how peaceful it is.

Four things:
1) Take a walk along the Sassagoula to POFQ. Try some Begneits (sure I spelled that wrong)

2) Make your own pasta is great, but huge protions. Better to share.

3) Take the boat to DTD. Even if you come right back, it's a nice ride.

4) Rent a surrey bike. Great fun!

I think you'll really like it. It's a great place to wander around, and enjoy the scenery. I'm not sure...is the butterfly garden still there?

Have fun!

We love staying at Riverside! We've done the mansions and alligator bayou. We prefer the bayou because of all the vegetation. The mansion section is much more open. For dining I would also suggest the create your own pasta at the Riverside Mill. The boat ride to Downtown is convenient and very relaxing. Enjoy your stay!

Well,I'm back home....NEVER....want to go in March in the future.Arrived ar POR at 7AM,raining & COLD.I thought the bus service was great, not one problem.Due to the weather,MK wasn't until 10AM when the sun came out! INSTANT CROWD....no break...people just kept coming in.I decided to go to EPCOT,it was PACKED,I gave up....waiting in line for over 60 minutes is not for me.I returned to POR,went to the Boatwright restaurent & had the best dinner i EVER had at Disney.
