I cant even start to total up the amount of money our family has spent on Disney Vacations for 26ears! I don't know, maybe enough for a substancial downpayment on new home. BUT you know its all been worth it when ...

After going to Disney since they were born, our 19,22 and 25 year old kids are now making their own trips with friends and planning it all out like DAD always did.

Sitting back in my soft chair in front of the tv with our xmas tree up and glowing, loaded with all the christmas decorations we have collected in these 26 years. I look at that tree and just feel sooooo good.

When after 26 years even as we go to dinner sometimes as a family, the conversation STILL always gets to Disneyworld. Either past visits or possible ( right possible..26 years in arow) new visits.

Crush Dude!

Back from WDW!Counting down to DLP in November!

Totally agree! First went to DLP and WDW in 96 and 98 with my uncle, returned to DLP in 2007 and since then I've had 3 WDW trips 3 DLZp trips and a DCL cruise!

Worth every penny, great memories and souvenirs!

Can't wait to get back :sohappy:

We too, have been coming to WDW for 25+ years. Our now 28 year old daughter and 25 year old son and us seem to always turn the conversation around to Disney World...when were going, etc... I think the amount of money spent doesn't begin to equal the memories that we have.

It's all worth it when...

1. your two year old says "Please stand clear doors."
2. your two year old says "Yo ho yo ho pirate me."
3. all your child wants for Christmas is to see Mickey (even when he's in the middle of the toy aisle!!!)
4. cheesy vacation planning DVDs make you cry from happiness.
5. you have a million pictures and memories that make you smile.

YES! :) Any time our kids play, EVERYTHING revolves around WDW. My wife actually made a video of the kids playing in the living room. They were pretending that the 3 of them were packing up and leaving for college (they are 7, 4, & 2). After they were "packed", my 7 year old informs the other 2 that they are going to Disney World 1st. It worked out for my 4 year old because she informed him that that's where her college is anyway.

Thinking the original thread name, and thinking slightly left of intended; we spend thousands throughout the year (on our Chase Disney card) and get our 1% Disney Chase cash card that helps us pay for our annual passes.

I know that growing up my family often talked about our trips, still do. Now my wife has gone with me and is hooked as well. No doubt about it the money spent was well worth it. In return we have happy memories that are priceless. When my parents die I will have many good memories of them, but every time I would go to Disney afterwards I would think of them every time. Beats paying off your house a year or two earlier in my opinion

You've spent how much money on your family for trips to WDW?! :lookaroun I sure hope you've gone to other places/countries besides returning to central Florida over and over again. I like WDW, but there is more to the world than "the world".

And that's YOUR personal opinion. If the OP wants to go to the world every year and travel no where else, then all the power to him. If that's what they love then good for them! :)

I've been to WDW almost every year of my life... 23 trips and everytime we can choose somewhere to go, we ALWAYS choose WDW. The memories we have created there and all the stuff we look forward to get back to (the food, the attractions, the characters, etc..) are priceless. I've been to Europe (Germany, Switzerland and Austria) Las Vegas, Arizona, Denver.. No place I've been compares to the world for me

pretty much the same here. a few times our parents insisted on something different (tried bermuda, bahamas, etc), but the next trip was always back to disney.

It's all worth it when your 9 year old son says "my whole life changed when I met Mickey Mouse"..

You double know it was worth all the sacrifice (we gave up a lot to go) for a year when your 4 kids start scheming ways to save money and things they are willing to not do just so we can go back sooner!

Just because there is more to the world doesn't mean everyone has the desire to see it. I have zero desire to travel outside the US.. never have. I have a few things in the US I want to take my kids too..but most things are Disney..lol

Well said. :)

Disney brings all of our family together and I cant dream of going anywhere else over the holidays.

Well said! You've put into words what I've never been able to explain to the critics. I may steal this! :)

So like this post, although I have not traveled to WDW that much 3 times in all with a 4th trip this may. My moment will always be carrying my 3 yr old daughter on my shoulders, turning the corner on Main st. and having her see the Castle. I could not see her face, but I could feel her excitment and her clapping as we got closer. This May, I will do the same with my 4 yr old daughter as well. it was priceless. :sohappy:

Family memories and traditions are special however and wherever they are made. To the OP, you are in good company here and I think it's wonderful that you have all those family memories to share and think about. I personally cherish every Disney trip I am able to take and am always so grateful whenever I get to go back. Cheers to you and your Disney loving family. It sounds like the tradition will be carried on through to your grandchildren.
