I am getting ready for my first ever trip to WDW and will be flying Southwest with early bird check-in. I can print by boarding pass for the way down from my home.

Since I will be there for 8 days, I will need to print one for my return trip.

I am not taking my laptop with me.

Thanks

Yes, guest relations is very accommodating with things like this. You'll have no trouble. By the way, I have flown with SW several times but never with my family. How is the Early Bird Check in? Is it really worth it? I want to make sure we all sit together and SW, for some stupid reason, doesn't allow assigned seats. Will the EB check in assure that we board quickly and get seats together?

Southwest also participates in resort airline check in, so you can can check in your luggage and get your boarding pass there. Or you can also just pick up your boarding pass from a kiosk at the airport.

The past couple of times we have flown SW, we used the resort check-in service, and just brought our bags to them in the morning, and they handed us our boarding passes right there. It was sooooo easy!

There are also kiosks in some of the hotels (I know we had one at DAKL) where you'll be able to print your boarding passes yourself right from there. You just go there, put in your flight information and it'll print for you. You can also ask the front desk or concierge to do it in the resort or Guest Relations if you're in the park. If it's easier, all you need to do is check-in 24hrs in advance and then you can print them at a later time. They'll save your boarding assignment even if you don't print them right away. =)

Edit...Forgot to add this. Info. right from the CM website.

Guest that are using Southwest that have Pre-Registered for Resort Airline Check-In don't need to check-in online prior to arriving at the Resort Airline Check-In desk to obtain their boarding group assignment. At 24 hours prior to flight, the Resort Airline Check-In systems will automatically assign the boarding group to those Guests who have Pre-Registered for the service. (This doesn't mean you'll get an "A" spot but it's a pretty good chance you will.)

Do you have to use ME to use this? If you don't have to have ME, how much does it cost, besides a tip?

It's a free service, and you don't have to use ME. It's called the resort Airline Check-in Service, and is a seperate entity from Magic Express.

What if I have paid the Earlybird checkin fee? Can I go to their kiosk 36 hours ahead to get the passes or will they have them ready and I can get them last minute? I ask because I have two children and do not want them sitting next to strangers because we don't get the "A" boarding.

If you paid for the Early Bird option, your boarding number will be the same no matter when you officially check in. It is assigned based on when you paid for it.

Great. Thanks. I fly pretty often but never with anyone else so I never need the SW EB option to make sure we sit together. And I've never flown SW to Disney either. :(

That`s useful information--I presume they would do it for flights to the UK?
If your airline allows it, but prepare to have the passport details available for all of your passengers for a flight to the UK.

We used Early Bird check in the last time to assure we were sitting with the kids. Worked out great, got A boarding passes and we didn't have to check in 36 or 24 hours before. It was all taken care of for us automatically. We then received our boarding passes in that sad envelope they hang on your hotel door the morning you leave. For me the extra $10/person was worth it.

It's not necessary when you use Early-Bird Checkin, but if you have a web-enabled phone, you can just check in at http://mobile.southwest.com/ and then print your boarding pass from a kiosk when you get to the airport.

Does SW use digital boarding passes.

If that's the case, no need to print. Just do it right from the phone. Although MCO's TSA handling of digital boarding passing is a bit strange. The agent yells "DIGITAL BOARDING PASS!" and then takes you over to a central podium where he or she scans it.

To the best of my knowledge, SWA does not.

At SJU it's a lot worse. They need you to hold your boarding pass physically, but you can't go through the WTMD/Nude-O-Scope with your phone, so it's a Catch-22 where you need to have your boarding pass on your body, but your boarding pass can't be on your body.
