Easiest way to check in at Bay Lake

Hey all...

I know that people checking in to Bay Lake Tower handle the whole check-in process at the front desk of the Contemporary. I'm assuming even if you do online check-in before arriving, you still go to the Contemporary's front desk to pick up your keys and welcome packet and anything else provided to you. My question has to do with luggage - what's easier: bringing your luggage with you when you check in, then going from there to the Tower? Or leave your gear in the car, check in, then park closer to Bay Lake? IS there a place near the entrance of Bay Lake where you can short-term pack to unload?

I would say it depends on the time you arrive.

Last August, we arrived at midnight so we pulled up at the Contemporary, left everything in the car....got our keys to our room and then jumped back in the car and drove to the front of BLT and unloaded everything. I then parked the car and we took our luggage ourselves up to the room.

In June of 2010, we arrived early in the morning and the bell hops took our luggage out of our car for us when we arrived at the main Contemporary building to check in.

I think it also depends on how much you have. Why not let bell services unload the car and bring your stuff to the room for you. Then you can just check in and head to the room and your stuff will be there in a few minutes.

More than likely, before getting out of the car, there will be that few minutes of "what do we need right now and where is it, what can't wait, even for a few minutes, just in case it's MORE than a few minutes, etc." We'll either be driving down or a combo of driving and AutoTraining it, with a 3 year old (closer to 4) and a 6 month old, so we'll be packed to the gills, including our own pack-and-play, play mats, strollers and cleaning supplies so my Felix Ungar of a wife can give the room a once-over. It'll be a scene. The one good thing is that my wife and I will probably pack less for ourselves, since we'll be in a 1BR with a washer and dryer. I didn't know if Bell Services were stationed at both the Contemporary and in the BL Tower itself, so it would make more sense to unload near the tower. If they bring it, we'll probably just grab whatever we must have on us for the kids, and let them handle the rest at the front. Thanks for the heads-up, both you and awilliams4

Everything Bell Services will be at the main building, but they will then bring your stuff to you no matter what area of the resort you are staying at. I have usually only waited about 5-10 minutes at a resort for them to bring me my stuff out of the car when I have stayed at deluxe resorts. All they need is a room number and they are pretty quick.

We just grabbed a spot in the BLT lot and walked over to the front desk. Then returned to the car to unload.

I'm sure there are easier ways of doing it but was no great inconvenience.

I would pull up in front of CR and let Bell services do the work for you. You can leave the car there while you check in. After you check in go park your car and then go to your room and make sure everything is good. Then call bell service to bring your bags up. Depending on how busy they are it should be anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes. What is nice about that, is that if something is not right about your room then you are not moving luggage again.

When are you going to be there Slappy?

Last time we pulled up to the Contemporary (they have temporary parking for check in front, right where you would pull up for valet). We left everything in the car, checked in, then we unloaded right in front of BLT, left hubby with bags and I parked in that lot. There was lots of close parking available in the BLT lot.
