Best way to get from DHS to EPCOT?

On Dec. 2 we will be at DHS to watch the Osborne lights, and then will be going to our 8:30 dinner ressies at Biergarten. I was wondering what would be the best way to get from one park to the other - by bus or boat? If by boat which resort should we get off at? Thanks!:wave:

The boat may be a mite quicker, and will drop you at the International Gateway in EPCOT. Unfortunately, Germany will still be a bit of a walk for you, but still shorter than walking from the main entrance.

Boat or bus are certainly viable options. I prefer the wall from DHS to EPCOT (or vice versa) though it does take a little extra time and a lot of extra effort. I just love the that walk around the Boardwalk.

I didn't think there was, but apparently I thought wrong all this time! This is the first I'm hearing of a bus!

Unless it is super hot or super freezing, I would definitely vote for the walk. However, the path is at points not super well lit, and does go under a roadway which makes a bit of a dark part, so if anyone in your group is nervous of walking a slightly dark path at night, then I would avoid it. The walk is about 15-20 mins to the Boardwalk and then about 5 mins or so to the International Gateway, plus a little bit farther to Germany.

Overall, I can't imagine another faster way than walking. To get to the path, you exit DHS and hug the waterway to the left of the bus loading zones heading to the parking lot, and follow the sidewalk which turns into the path. I don't remember much in the way of good signage, but it is pretty obvious once you start. It also gives you a neat perspective of the Tower of Terror lit at night. I would probably leave DHS by 7:30 - 7:45 if your ressie is at 8:30 to allow walking time and any line at the International Gateway, although there rarely is one. If you're early, then wondering World Showcase at the holidays is one of my fav places to be...

There is a bus that goes from the Studios to the *front* of Epcot, where all the other buses go (and vice versa). For people heading somewhere in Future World, it's often your best bet. But if you're going to Germany, it means you'll have to walk ALLLLL the way through the park.

If you are OK walking at a brisk pace and time is of the essence, and there isn't a boat anywhere in sight as you leave the Studios, walk. Go down along the right side of the water and follow the path. When you get to the Boardwalk, cut in through the main pool area (with the coaster slide). Head out onto the main Boardwalk area, and then follow the lake around to the right to get to the International Gateway. This route should take you about 20 minutes, maybe slightly longer, at a brisk pace.

But if there's a boat at the dock as you leave the Studios, go for the boat. The difference will only be a couple minutes, and you'll save yourself the energy.

I'm not sure about the bus option. We stayed at Wilderness Lodge and had adrs for Yachtsman. We decided to take the resort bus to the Studios then the boat to the Yacht Club. All went well until we boarded to boat, and a torrential storm broke out. Boat services were suspended indefinately and after around 20 minutes we we told that a bus service would now be running to the Boardwalk resorts and Epcot.

We sploshed our way over to the bus stop area to be told there were no buses running to Epcot/Boardwalk as the boats were running - 'look, there's one now ready to load up' (the one we had got off). There were around 20 of us refugees from the Friendship Boats, and eventually to cut a long story short we managed to convince a bus driver that the boats were not running and he took us all stops to Epcot.

We arrived 45 minutes late at Yachtsman, despite having allowed 90 minutes for the journey and we were soaked to the skin which didn't do anything for the enjoyment of our evening, I couldn't stop shivering all through the meal!

This is great advice. You will easily beat the boat to the gateway if you get off at Y&B.

We take the boat from Epcot to DHS and the reverse of the trip every visit. We like the boat ride and it is only 30mins. in duration. The only potential problem is the size of the line at either destination. Will we be able to get on the boat without having to wait for another which will lengthen the time of the trip. For example, if you wait to see Fantasmic and then proceed to the boat launch, the waiting time for a boat will be longer UNLESS you get to the launch asap. Good luck!:sohappy:

I would take the bus from DHS to Beach Club and then walk in the back at International Gateway.

There are no buses from DHS to the Beach Club unless the boats are down because of lightning or finished for the evening. Boats run until one hour after park close. Buses will go to the Epcot resorts after the boats shut down until the park is cleared of all guests. BTW, there are no dark areas along the walkway from DHS to Epcot. It is extremely well-lit, especially under the roadway bridge.:hammer:

It's nice to take the boat to the first stop and then walk from there, if you think you'll have enough time. It'd probably be super nice during Christmas, something I plan on doing when I'm down there a few weeks after you.

We love the boat ride - just give yourself time or take a tip to walk part of it. We always plan the day we go to DHS to leave around 6pm and take the boat to spend the rest of the evening at EPCOT (we are usually done by early evening at DHS and rather than seeing Fantasmic again we love EPCOT in the evening). Park hopper rules!

Walk!!!!! Boat is slow and usually packed which may mean standing. :dazzle:
And after a long day at the park I am to tired to stand. Also to tired to walk but it is what it is.
