Hess Express near Magic Kingdom...

Does anybody know if you can get pay-as-go cards for Virgin phones there? I even called the station but the lady I was speaking with had very poor english and I really didn't understand what she was saying. She also told me the station was inside the Magic Kingdom! I don't recall see a Hess Express on the MK park map!

I'd just like to make sure before I pay for a cab over there!

I guess the cheapest and quickest would be to take a cab from the MK!?!

And another stupid question... are there cabs waiting outside the MK all the time or will we have to call one?

Don't know about the cards, but the Hess Station is inside MK in the sense that you have to go through the parking toll plaza to get there [there are other ways, but "technically"]. It's beside the AAA Care Car Center.

If you have either a credit/debit card or paypal you can top up directly from your phone without having to buy a top up card. You can register your card or paypal account on their site which makes it even easier to top up from your phone. I did this after the first couple of times using a top up card. It helps save time and you don't have to hunt for a place that carries the top up cards.

Yeah, that's where I was picturing it!

Not if you're from outside the US. You have to physically buy a pay-as-you-go card or go to a store (ie Radio Shack) where they will top up the phone for you. We bought some cheap Virgin phones a few years back that we only use in the US while on vacation. It's cheaper than putting a package on our own cell phones and we can keep in contact with the other party. This year my parents are joining us again but they're staying at a different resort. Without a way to contact each other it will be a nightmare trying to meet up in the parks! It's worth the few minutes of hassle to try and track down some phone cards.

I checked on their website and it gave you an option to find locations that sell the top up cards. It lists both the Hess Station near the Magic Kingdom and the one across from Downtown Disney as selling the Top Up cards. The easiest one to get to from any resort would probably be the one across from Downtown Disney as you could take a bus from the resort to Downtown Disney and then walk across the street to it.

Definately the best option. It is literally 5 minutes walk from Raglan Road. Its good to stock up on other goodies for your room too, we got beer, wine, soda, chips etc at a fraction of disney prices :)
