he was broken a couple weeks ago. the white bubble wasn't covering him and the cannon never came out.

had this not occurred, i never would have known that his mouth moves during the part in which he is supposed to be heard and not seen.

How sad things have gotten at Disney, I remember back in the 80's when it was just MK and Epc......... wait nevermind, maybe I should give them time to fix it first. Let me just cut and paste this comment onto my clipboard and re-post it in a week or 2 if needed.

Sorry didn't mean to jump the gun.

The little things like the penguin orchestra and the swedish chef makes things seem so real, without them, even tho most people never see them, it ruins a big part of the magic.

This is very sad news. I feel very sorry for people seeing the show for the first time because the little details like this just make so much more magical. Without them the show is just a short movie which you could see in any old cinema. Come on Disney, you're so much better than that! Why didn't they get it sorted out overnight!?!?

Without the Chef's cannon, the grand finale of the film doesn't make any sense, particularly to anyone who's seeing it for the first time.

Ought to be 101 until it's fixed. And for what Disney charges for its "premium" (ha) theme parks, it shouldn't be broken for days or weeks.

I was on the fix the magic website when I saw that someone reported that the sweedish chef was missing and that a wooden board was covering when he usually is. I was wondering if he is being repaired or why is he missing since he is a main part of the show. Here is the link to the website where I got the information below.

It was like this back in the last week of May 2011 as well

yeah i can imagine the ending being quite confusing without him...

thankfully our last trip was just after it had a massive refurb. everything was working brilliantly.

what i don't get is that they can be bothered to get someone to run through the auditorium as that monster, but can't be bothered to fix AAs. and the penguins too! i thought that was cool how they came out of the floor. must look a bit strange with them being stuck up and not moving. sure, make them move a bit ilke they're tuning up, but don't just leave them out in the open doing nothing. it screams anti magic.

Yup, I saw it. It was very, very bad. I was looking back for the Swedish Chef as were many others in the theater, but it was just confusing.

Calling it very bad is being generous. I just got back and its just horrid, the end makes no sense at all. I love the muppets and went the first time we went to the studios and then went again 2 days later and it was still down. After that I didnt go back and I normally see this show 5 or 6 times a trip, I just couldnt stand it. If you havent seen it before, it would absolutely make no sense.

Didn't this show have a refurb not to long ago?

Last year, I believe. Although if I remember correctly it was more for the condition of the theatre (and perhaps the screen and effects) than anything else.

But not having the chef working (or the cannon) is simply absurd. An issue with a random AA throughout the course of a ride is one thing, but those are integral parts of the show.

Agreed. Similar issue to Hopper over at Tough to Be a Bug, the attraction which its refurb was just cancelled.
