We've made adr's at 6 places we've never been to for our next trip. Can you tell me what's your favorite and/or least liked dish you've had at these venues? I know everyone's different in their likes/dislikes but now that I've hit the 180 day mark I need something to keep me occupied until we go lol.

We have lunches at Kona, The Wave, and Brown Derby. We have dinners at Artists Point, Yachtman's and Jiko's.

Artist Point - make sure you have the smoky portobello soup. :slurp:
Personally I don't like steak, so when we go to Yachtsman I have the fish, which I think is usually a halibut. It also comes with a great risotto.

Oh my - faves? That is a LONG list! But I know the worst. I had some enchilada mess at San Angel Inn. It was awful!!!! And the other worst was Biergartan. I should say that it wasn't that I liked the "type" of food, but that EVERYTHING tasted like saurkraut. I get it - german - saurkraut - I knew it would be there - but it was literally on everything. :hurl::hurl:

The faves - I love the quiche lorraine and french onion soup at Les Chefs, along with the steak there. I love beer soup and steak at Le Cell, Shepards Pie at Rose and Crown, and the taco salad at Tortuga. Also love the pizza at Planet Pizza - I know, weird. The Cobb Salad at Brown Derby. And pretty much any breakfast buffet. :slurp::slurp::slurp:

Yachtsman
Favorite: the NY Strip, though I assume all of the steaks are excellent here
Least Favorite: the Escargot here was not very good at all- very runny

Jiko
Favorite: Everything is fabulous here, but my favorites are the curry dishes.

I have never once had a bad meal at The Brown Derby and Artist Point. You should enjoy those for sure. :) Artist Point has some great game entrees if you are into that type of meal.

I had the WORST meal at Citricos - probably either in 2000 or 2001. It was vension. Tasted funny, and then it made my entire family sick. :hurl: Also had the second worst meal there - Ahi Tuna that was not cooked right.

Best/favorite - our dining experience at Le Bistro and also typically every meal at Les Chefs in France. I cannot remember the name of the restaurant in the Dolphin - but we had 2 very nice meals there in 2007 - it is a seafood restaurant.

I can only comment on Kona Lunch and Jiko dinner...

Our only visit to Kona so far was for lunch in February. We both ordered the Island Chicken sandwich (fries on the side for me, house-made potato chips on the side for my husband). The sandwich was DELICIOUS...my only regret about the meal was that I tried those chips my husband ordered and they were so tasty that I was bummed I'd opted for the fries instead :( (which were also good, but in my opinion, the chips were better). We split the Kilauea Torte - with vanilla ice cream on the side - for dessert. The whole meal was great.

Jiko is our favorite restaurant at WDW. We've had the cheese plate and the bread service - both are fine, but I think I'd give the edge to the bread service (which they call "Taste of Africa" on the menu). My entree of choice is the Filet with Mac and Cheese and red wine sauce - heavenly! :) My husband also enjoyed the chicken dish, though what he had is a little different than the chicken dish currently on their menu. But I'm sure it's just as good! The desserts we had were good as well, but again, they are no longer on the current menu. We've eaten at Jiko twice, and both times we had incredible meals! :slurp:

It's funny how everyone has different tastes.

I would say the salmon at Artist Point was the worst thing I ever had at Walt Disney World. It was dry and tasted like wet cotton and was served on a board used to keep moths away.

My best meal was the 7 course meal, lamb included at Victoria and Albert's or the lamb loin chop at Shula's. Again funny as many people don't care for lamb.

Well, it appears they recently changed the pork dish at the Brown Derby.
I never get pork out at restaurants but took a gamble with the pork with smoked gouda. By far my favorite meal of my trip last fall and one of my favorite DW meals of all time.
Now it reads as follows:
Sterling Silver Pork Tenderloin - with white cheddar mustard spaetzle, Swiss chard, onion-pomegranate relish, and cider jus

Hmmm. Still sounds good.

And of course the Cobb salad. And grapefruit cake.

My whole family longs for the Cobb salad at The Brown Derby. So much so that my wife looked up the recipe and tried copying it, Turned out pretty good too. :)
