We have tickets to MNSSHP on 10/13 and have and ADR at Kona Cafe at 5pm. So if we have a car and drive to the Poly to eat, can i leave the car at the poly - take the monorail to MK and do MNSSHP - then when its over take the monorail back to poly , hop in the car and jet? Or is this a bad idea?

Thanks again everyone for your advise. I think Im going to take my chances and park at the poly, eat, take the monorail, go to MNSSHP, enjoy myself with my family, take the monorail back to the poly, go down the elevator, head to my car and drive back to the POP. I bet I could beat a MK bus back to the POP anyway.

Whew... I'm spending 1000's of dollars on a vacation I think Disney can loan me a parking space for about 4 hours.

Here's what I ask myself in any situation:
"If every single person did [insert situation here], would the Guest experience still be the same as it is now?

Paraphrasing Immanuel Kant on a fanboy message board is impressive. However, this formulation of the categorical imperative is misguided, at best. Instead of guest experience at a theme park, let's make your thesis universal and say "An act is morally permissible if, and only if, the agent is willing to see that action become a universal maxim by which all must live." With this logic, actions such as entering the priesthood would be deemed immoral. Presumably, you wouldn't be willing for EVERYONE to take a vow of chastity, as the human race would cease to exist. Therefore, morality based on the categorical imperative (i.e. saying it's okay only if EVERYONE could do it) is fallacious.

Not to mention, if every single person [PARKED AT THE POLY IF THEY HAVE DINNER RESERVATIONS AT THE POLY], then the Guest experience wouldn't change one bit. There's enough parking to accommodate guests AND those who make dinner reservations. Call WDW, they'll tell you the same thing. On a recent trip, I wasn't even GOING to a park, nor was I staying on property, but we had dinner reservations at Sanaa so, guess what? We parked at Kidani Village! And then we walked around the resort and looked at the animals! Scandal! The views of those animals are for resort guests only! Grab your torch and pitchforks!

I have refrained from posting on this board because of how ugly the threads get here. I post a lot on others. I have to answer this one because I am one of those who have had the horrible experience many times over 20 plus years of staying at the Poly of having a terrible time trying to find parking when coming back at night. It does happen to answer a pp and it is a horrible experience. You have no choice but to park at the resort you are staying at and you can't.

Now yes, it's fine to haveban ADR and park there. No one disputes that, the Poly lot is sized for that. But it isn't sized for having an ADR and then go off to MK for several hours. The parking presumes that there will be a turn over every couple of hours. And there is a sign saying no MK parking.

People going for ADRs are OK. Going to MK is not. It does have an impact on people even if you don't know it and it's terrible and not something you would want to experience. Folks it takes something that is disappearing from society, consideration for others and how you may be hurting others. From what I've read here, I'm probably hoping for too much.

I agree with that sentiment as it applies to society as a whole but, as it applies to this thread, it really seems to be a bit of an overreaction.

Excellent first post, Polydweller. I usually give up after 2-3 laps around the parking lot and valet the car.

And I am sure you will continue to feel that way until you are the one looking for a parking spot at a place you paid $500 a night to stay at.

I've had this problem at both the Boardwalk and the Poly. At the Boardwalk it happens almost every night, until Epcot closes. At the Poly, it is only during busier times, like Christmas, Easter, July 4th or party nights (MNSSHP or MVMCP, doesn't matter) The valet at the Poly told me it happens often during party nights.

Just park in the grass behind a topiary. You'll be fine.

Camouflaging may help. ;)

Guess I'm okay then, because even if I could afford it I would never pay $500 a night for a place to sleep, ever.

That was sarcasm but in all honesty, look at it this way. If someone keeps you from parking close, then the long walk you'll incur will keep you from being one of those obese people abusing the ECV rentals that everyone's posting about in other threads....... :p

Just a warning, if anyone starts a thread asking about exceeding room capacity or refillable mugs, they might be banned. :animwink:
