I am personally not fussed about the name and i don't mind it being called Hollywood studio's, it makes more sense i guess, but i will always call it MGM
Yes I do and I prefer MGM, but then again I call CD’s - records, and a refrigerator – an “ice box.” I call it individualism my son calls it senility, go figure.
While I particularly do not mind the name change I still get hung up with it and call it MGM by mistake. There is just something about MGM that just makes it roll off your tounge. Perhaps it is because it is really short and I am lazy and it is just easier to say.
We still call it MGM out of habit. I even found a piece of signage on my visit (two weeks ago) that said "Disney-MGM Studios" right next to Disney Hollywood Studios! I took a picture of it as proof.
I will 3rd the, its just the "studios" for me. Every once in a while a MGM will slip out of mouth but not very often. Im pretty well indifferent about the Hollywood part of the name. I don't hate it but if they changed it again I wouldn't really care either.
I'm fine with whatever they want to call it. I call it various things, depending on who I'm talking to. For example, my brothers have no clue the name has changed, so if I called it "Hollywood Studios", they would have no idea what i meant. So I just stick to MGM. My husband knows it's changed, so I call it Hollywood Studios or just the Studios. Around here, I just type DHS.
Grew up with the park being MGM and it will stay that way in my eyes. I understand why the name had to change to allow a broader scope of films, but like everyone else it's just out of habit. My upcoming itinerary that I have prepared for my family has MGM all over it.
I had to get used to it. Now I actually much prefer the name 'Disney Hollywood Studio's'.
I wish Disney would leave out the 'Disney' part of the name. It looks corny. If I were to say the name in full, it would sound ridiculous: 'Rest? Again? No, honey, let's hit the Disney Hollywood Studio's today!'.
That doesn't work. So in actual conversation I use 'the studio's'.
