Can a coaster wuss handle The Hulk and HRRR?

So, me and a buddy of mine are taking an impromptu weekend trip to Universal in April. Been there many times, but yet to ride Hulk or Rip Ride Rockit. I'm a self admitted coaster weenie. I can handle Everest, RNRCoaster, Thunder and Space in stride. Will the Universal 2 be too much to handle?

Both are significantly more intense than any of the Disney rides you mention. I really enjoyed Hulk, wasn't crazy about HRRR. Hulk is fast and fun, HRRR was a very rough, uncomfortable ride IMO, still fast though.

I say if you can handle RnR just fine than go for the Hulk. It is a bit more intense, but fairly similar in the sense of launch and speed. Just take away the indoor dark aspect and make the loops taller. I can't imagine you being overwhelmed if you can handle RocknRollercoaster.

That makes me feel a bit better. I love RNRCoaster. To me, it's not bad at all. But The Hulk looks so much more intimidating.

Honestly I think it looks more intimidating than it really is. It is like that with a lot of rides at many parks though. It could just be the fact that it is outside and a few parts after the launch are high up.

I really love the launch on Hulk. If you enjoy the launch sensations on RnR than I think you will enjoy Hulk's. It is a bit slower of an acceleration at 0-40mph in 2 seconds rather than 0-60 that RnR has, but it goes into a heatline roll which is just a neat sensation.

I like coasters, but am not a Six Flags coaster guy like some people, so take my opinion accordingly.

My perspective would be that if you are a coaster weenie, don't do the Hulk. It is considerably more intense and longer than Rock n Roller Coaster, in my opinion.

While Rock n Roller Coaster starts off like an aircraft carrier launch, it seems to me that it doesn't maintain that intensity throughout the ride, where the Hulk does maintain the intensity.

I'm a pretty healthy guy and like roller coasters but have never once been tempted to go straight back for a second go on Hulk. Several times, I've wanted to sit and collect myself for a couple minutes after making it to the exit. :lol:

Maybe I am a coaster weenie, after all. :lol: :shrug:

The Hulk batters your head of the head restraints and despite years of playing rugby I feel it on my neck, where as all the other rides are just sensations of -ve and +ve G.

That said I still do it front and back every trip.

I'm a big chicken and go on very little, but my hubby loves coasters and isn't afraid of any of them. He actually hated Hulk, not because it was too scary but because he said it was so rough on the head, neck and body that it wasn't a pleasant ride. Our ten year old son liked it but that was probably because it was the first coaster with loops that he was tall enough to go on. RRR was down when we were there so they couldn't ride it.

The older I get, the rougher Hulk feels. Unfortunately, RRR was down last time we were there, so we didn't get a chance to ride....:(

You've got to at least give them both a try!

I love going on the Hulk, but i can't do it more than once every few hours, it really takes it out of me. I love roller coaster, but i hate lift hills so that's what makes hulk in my top 3 coasters.
RRR I haven't been on yet, but my boyfriend has and says it's boring. By association, and what friends have said I'd probably compare it to a little less thrilling than Everest, WITHOUT the yeti.

You may or may not like the hulk, but i know you'll be able to bear RRR. Whether or not you enjoy it is up in the air.

I am terrified of rollercoasters.....it's not so much the actual ride but the fear I am gonna fall out when I go upside down (I know it is irrational but I just can't get over it lol). That said I love the Hulk and ride everytime we are at Universal. I like that it does not have a lift hill (as someone else stated) and it is just a really fun ride. I have never experienced soreness from it but the fact that others have maybe something to take into account. If you can do RNR then I think you will be fine with Hulk. I cannot vouche for RRR as I have not been on it. However my sisters live in Orlando and they say it's a blast. It does look to have a high lift hill so if that makes you anxious it might be one u want to skip. No matter what have a blast!!

HRRR is not that intense (Still a really fun coaster though) so definitely give that a try. Hulk is more intense, but is definitely worth at least one try. We built my Mom up to going on the bigger rollercoaster by tricking her into thinking RNRC didn't go upside-down and now she is the one dragging us to go on the Hulk! As for the bumping head part of the Hulk I think a lot of that depends person to person, based on body size/height, as it is something I experienced when I was younger but don't have any problems with now.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

Yeah, my family did that to me as well on our second-to-last trip. I nearly killed them at the first inversion, but in the end, I was glad I'd done it.

Hulk is the most intense rollercoaster I have ever been on. A coaster weenie shouldn't try it. You'll be scared off just by waiting in line. Ride Spiderman instead. I think Hulk is a great ride but if you don't think you can handle it I wouldn't bother.

As someone who has been on almost every coaster on the east coast, including most of Cedar Point (too tall to fit on Top Thrill Dragster :mad:), I would say that anyone who handles Aerosmith can handle Hulk. The only real difference, as mentioned before, is the size of the loops...and the fact that you can see what's coming! Frankly, both my wife and I thought it was kinda slow and plodding compared to some of the stuff we've done, but as I said...we're coaster freaks. I can't comment on Rip Rocket since I'm also too tall for that one :mad:! If you can handle Dueling Dragons, Hulk would be a piece of cake! Enjoy!
