Ok we have always flown but this year we are driving. Since we have others coming along I don't want to miss it. We are staying at Kadani Village... coming off the 429 toll onto 192 looks like it puts us right at the resort, but I will take a detour if need be.
Thanks

Well, I can't claim to have entered WDW from every possible route, but I have entered many different ways and have never made it on property without passing an entrance sign.

I know for sure that there is one on Osceola Parkway between I-4 and Victory Way. There's also one on World Drive coming in from SR-417. Sounds like you're coming in from the opposite side of property. I've never been over there, but I'd be surprised if you can reach your resort without passing under a sign.

I've always thought of this as the "Main Entrance" sign, on World Drive right off 192.

Just be aware they have signs posted stating "emergency stopping only" to deter people from pulling over to take photos. I see people still do it, but just be aware you could get a visit from a passing officer if you decide to stop for a photo.

The signs on West Osceola Parkway and Epcot Center Dr. just off I-4 are the same way I believe with no stopping signs.

The sign at Florida 535 & Hotel Plaza Boulevard is just a sign at the corner of an intersection. Photos are fine, but you gotta find a place to park.

Since you're going to Kidani, you'll get off 492 on 192 as said, but you'll need go all the way World Drive, then north to Oceola Parkway to get into the AKL area. So you'll pass under the World Dr. sign.

There are entrance signs when you enter property from 192 on World Drive, 536 on Epcot Center Drive, Osceloa Parkway, off 535 onto Hotel Plaza Blvd, and from Western Way off 429. If you come down 192 to World Center Drive, you'll hit the largest of the signs, but come off onto Western Way and you'll still get an entrace sign, just a bit smaller.

The only way you miss an entrance sign is coming in through the unmarked entrances, of which which I know 3, but there are probably more -- Sherbeth Road off 192, Reams Road that comes into the area north of MK, and Vista Way (or something like that) that comes into Buena Vista Blvd. somewhere north of Downtown Disney and east of the Eagle Pines/Osprey Ridge/fancy new subdivision area. But you don't end up at those entrances unless you specifically look for them.

Note, however, that the Sherbeth Road entrance/exit is convenient to AKL, and you might want to use it during your trip if you venture off property.

Coming in those "unmarked" entrances you get a totally different kind of welcome sign... A legal one essentially stating that you're entering private property, and only employees and Guests of the Walt Disney Company are authorized to be there. (This gets around anyone who's been given a trespass warning from being able to say they didn't know they'd driven onto Disney property... The big signs on the main roads make it obvious, but they had to legally mark the other entrances, too)

EDIT: I found the sign I mentioned on Sherberth on Google Street View, it says "Private Property. Walt Disney World Resort Guest, Cast and Business Invitees Only" (If you want to look for it, it's on Sherberth just before the curve to the left when it gets near Osceola Pkwy)

You're welcome. It's a weird little obsession of mine.

Not weird at all. Kinda cool to see that there are actually little differences in all of them. Remembered that my wife had taken a quick picture through the windshield of our van while re-entering WDW two years ago and after looking at the picture a few minutes ago, can tell that we must have been entering through the Osceola Parkway entrance thanks to your pics (had Minnie on the right, but Goofy instead of Donald to the left). For some reason, I just assumed they were all the same. :p

I knew which gate I had seen on my last trip (stayed off property at a place not five mins. from the Oceola entrance) because I had to listen to the GPS voice repeate "OCEOLA" over and over again the whole trip, especially since it could never make up it's mind about the best way to exit the resort was.

Sherbeth Road used to dead end before the Animal Kingdom section was built. I guess they just extended it to intersect with Osceola Parkway. That shortcut has been mentioned in the "Unofficial Guide". Never went that way before but I do know of it after reading my several editions of that guidebook. May have to check it out on Google Street View now. ;)

By the way, never knew there were other "unmarked" entrances into the property other than Sherbeth Rd. Can I find those on Street View as well?

True. I suspected those weren't the kind of welcomes the OP was looking for, though!

Nicely done. You have more free time than I do, and you have put it to good use!

You can indeed find them. The entrances off of Reams Road and County Road 535/Vista are very well-marked at Google Maps even on the regular map view.

I was in Orlando for a convention at the Royal Caribe once. I could not get a room there, so I was in some other hotel back in that area. I would come in via 535/Vista Way after the convention each night.

It is an interesting way to get on property - not particulary "magical" :)

Though the Buena Vista Construction Company piqued my interest.
