Honeymoon perks?

So I'll be honeymooning at WDW in July this year, and I've heard that honeymooners often get little perks throughout their stay. I was wondering if anyone had experience or advice about what to expect. We're staying in a 1 bedroom villa at Old Key West and I've already added "honeymoon" to the "What Will You Celebrate" feature. What can I expect, if anything?

Congratulations!

Don't expect anything as you're certainly not guaranteed any special treatment, but it's Disney World... surely something will happen!

We had our honeymoon in July at the Yacht Club. Upon arrival we were upgraded for free to concierge level which was simply amazing and received our "Just Married" buttons.

The Just Married buttons will get you roughly 100 "Congratulations!" each day. Everywhere we went we got little perks.... At Le Cellier they made a special plate from our desserts and decorated it. At Sanaa we received a champagne toast "on Mickey".

At the American Adventure in Epcot we were pulled aside into a special room and told that there was a phone call waiting for us from Mickey. Mickey and Minnie and the gang talked about how great weddings are and how they love the wedding cake etc. etc.... then we were brought into the nearby restaurant, announced as the newly weds from New Jersey and given free Apple Pie. They announced us and had the whole crowed applaud us prior to the American Adventure show. It was really quite special.

Over the coarse of our 7 day trip we probably were given 10 extra fast passes from cast members. On numerous occasions as we went to hand the CM our fast pass in line they would tell us to hold on to them for our next time around.

There might have been more that I'm forgetting. Disney will certainly make your honeymoon very special. The less you expect, though, the happier you'll be. Have Fun!

The one thing you can expect is if you wear the bride and groom mickey ears you will get a lot of people looking at you. And some will even say congrats. My friend wore one and was told congrats 20 times or so.

Don't expect anything. Thats the best advice ever.

However, wearing the button or the mouse ears will get you lots of congratulations. And as PP's mentioned, you may get little treats and gifts at restaurants. Some are pretty friggin tasty if I may say so myself. We did notate Honeymoon on our reservations for dining, and did get some yummy surprises.

Congratulations in advance by the way. Great place to Honeymoon.

Definitely don't go in expecting anything!

There's a lot of people honeymooning in WDW on any given day. Disney doesn't do anything special for most of them beyond acknowledging their honeymoon (if they are aware of it).

On our honeymoon, we were Disney novices. My wife scoffed at the bride and groom mouse ears and joked about all the couples she saw wearing them. As we didn't call attention to the fact we were honeymooners, we didn't get a lot of special treatment.

But there were a few times when we got to talking to cast members and they dragged it out of us. This didn't result in anything big. The biggest thing I remember getting was a certificate with Tinkerbell on it. Beyond that it was just nice conversations.

If you call attention to yourselves, you may get some free perks of some kind. But I wouldn't expect or look for them. Just be happy if they happen.

Even if you don't get a single thing for free, you're likely to have a great honey moon. Congrats!

(We've gotten far more free stuff for having cute kids than we ever would have gotten for being honey mooners. Cast members positively throw free stuff at our girls' feet!)

Well it has been a few years but we stayed at the Yacht Club and the Polynesian for our honeymoon. It was stated on both reservations and sometimes it was noted on reservations to places we ate by the Polynesian Concierge when they got us meal times. If it was noted we usually got some free dessert or something or a nice table. We did not wear anything that said it was our honeymoon or really tell anyone but some magic happened. Most of the magic was in our room at the Polynesian. You can see photos and read the trip report by clicking the link.

It seems like you're getting a mixed bag of ideas and opinions, but all I can tell you is my experience...And it was amazing.

We were greeted w. 'Just Married' pins when we arrived, and being in the vein of being in 'the happiest place on earth', we had no problem sporting the Mickey and Minnie bridal ears...we didn't wear them everyday, but the pins I think we did.

We got a million 'congrats' everyday...But I thought it was nice to hear people genuinely happy for you!

On the 'free stuff'...All I can say is we got a TON (and I had no idea they did any of this)...Free coffee, free desserts, free drinks, etc....Jumping in the front of the line as well...

It was a wonderful time, and the freebies were wonderful and unexpected, and honestly such a blessing since we were on a pretty tight budget!

I hope you have a wonderful wedding day, a wonderful marriage, and as awesome of a honeymoon as we were lucky to have! :)
