Any plans for a big ride?

I’m curious to know if there will ever be a big white knuckle ride in the magic kingdom or if there are any plans to build more big rides in any of the other parks? I love Everest and wish there was something like that in the magic kingdom.

Sometimes I feel like if Disney had the cure for cancer they would draw up art work showing people being vaccinated. They'd waste a lot of time talking about it but then shelve it saying it would cost too much to implement. :brick:

I believe that is Disney's new slogan on dreams.

If we can get a sponsor to pay the budget but eventually let it fall into shambles later due to neglect...WE CAN DO IT!
gogogo WDWMagic...if everybody donated a few dollars on this site we could sponsor an attraction!

Awww you all seem to have a downer on Disney, but I do think they need a few more big rides that teenagers would enjoy. Is Everest sponsored by someone?

Welcome to the reality of how WDW is run. We don`t have a downer; we all love WDW but we are realists for the most part.

Everest isn`t sponsored. Part of the reason it is in such a mess.

Absolutely WDW could do with a few more big rides. That`s why Universal opened Islands of Adventure....

I wouldn't classify it as realists. Most of the people on here pick apart what Disney hasn't done. The negative threads on here outlast the positive ones. I'm not going to deny that everyone on here loves WDW. I'm sure Disney knows exactly all the issues in their parks. The problem is that they can't just fix everything at once. A lot of people on here seem to think that if something is wrong than it should be fixed to their liking. So to say that people here aren't realists, we're dreamers, hoping that Disney takes the appropriate steps to continue to be a great business, travel destination, family-friendly park, and everything in between.

The problem is that everything has been left to deteriorate to such an extent that so many things need doing at once.

I havent read a thread on the benefits of using a certain type of axle grease or the hight of shrubbery since the beginning of the year.

I understand the issues with some of the rides. But some people need to learn to appreciate what they have. I'm not calling anyone out so don't attack me for speaking out. =)

Disney knows what needs to be done. People want it done now and thats not going to happen...thats realist. =)

Disney could do more, they have added little to the half day parks since they opened, the MK offer fewer attractions now than in the early 90s, Im pretty sure the same could be said for Epcot.

The complaints are aimed at the senior management decisions which seem to be taken based on bonuses rather than guest needs. That and of course comparisons against the love being showered on Disneyland.

It is only an opinion, although one that seems to be supported by events on the ground, how long is the MK parade these days?

I agree with you that something needs to be done. Honestly how many people on here actually call Guest Relations and complain? Disney isn't going to read the blogs about people complaining. Disney will respond faster if people complain.

I would love to see longer parades, pavilions in epcot all up and running with amazing rides. I would love to see Hollywood Studios laid out more clearly with great rides and Magic Kingdom just fix up what they have and update some stuff. It's a long list with what needs to be done in all four parks but to have a group of people to agree on what needs to be done first is hard to do. I'm sure management in all four parks are trying to get their park fixed more than the other parks (thats if they're trying at all...lol.)

i think the only thing we can do is let our voice be heard by calling or going to guest relations and telling them what we know. starting a 50 page thread on that they need to fix the yeti isn't going to do anything. if everyone on that thread called disney to express their anger...we would see more stuff being done.

Oh c'mon... didn`t you say recently you`d been lurking for a few years here? If not I apologise I have you confused, but you know how TDO works. You know the reasons why things arn`t fixed or arn`t built. And you know they should and could be. I love WDW. I travel 8000 miles at least once a year and spend a lot of money to do so. But I`ll also call out its failings too.

What is said on these boards is mainly an echo of what is known inside the company too. At all levels. It`s just that we can actually say it publically.

Agree with Martin here. Of course Disney know's the problems that currently exist in the parks. But the issues aren't that "there is so much that needs to be done that they can't do it at once" Stephen. The issue is that a) they let the parks get to the point of deteriation that there is now so much that needs to be done to bring them back up to the standards that we all remember, and b) the upper management mentality that the "average" guest doesn't care that there is some paint missing here, or gum stuck on the sidewalk there, or a light out on the Main Street Marque now, or that the Yeti doesn't move like it used it if the "average" guest even knows that it used to!

TDO needs to stop thinking in terms of "how long can we let this go" and start thinking in terms of "we're Disney and the utmost quality and attention to detail is expected of us, whether or not the average guest notices."

And to the OP, yes we need more attractions. But they better be well themed, have a great back story, not be completely based on movie plug-ins, and make thematic sense in the land they are being placed. Is that too much to ask? :D
