AP Holder Discounts at WDW?

Does anyone know if WDW has continued the previous program of AP merchandise discount at all WDW parks for passholders? We are planning on a November trip and remembered we had a AP discount for merchandise of 10% last time we came in February. Thanks for any info..

Last I heard it was extended again through September 30th but I wouldn't be surprised if it continues beyond that again. It's been pretty much a year of almost non-stop "special discounts" on merch for AP's.

Current promo on the Passholder website:

Passholders get 10% off select merchandise at Walt Disney Resort stores now through September 30, 2010.

With this Passholder discount, it's a great time to shop for something special. And if you're a Premium Passholder, you can save 20% on select merchandise at Walt Disney Resort stores while this offer lasts.
Visit today–don't delay!

[SIZE=-3]Offer is valid only at the Walt Disney World® Resort, offer is valid only at select Walt Disney World Resort stores. In any case it pays to ask. I was shopping at the DTD Christmas store (Disney Days of Christmas?) a few weeks ago. I almost didn't whip out my pass, because I didn't think there was a promotion going on and I was sure the discount was only at World of Disney. But I did anyway on a hunch, and got 10% off.

This is what's nice about Universal's AP: you get 10% off merchandise AND food. It's not a "special" that they are running, it's part of the pass.

A member on another forum posted that at the recent Tinkerbell DVD advance screening, they announced the discount was extended through January.

I can find the online confirmation for DLR, but not WDW. But WDW doesn't show the discount they have been offering all year online either it seems.

Not surprised to hear this. And yeah, the Pasholder site isn't updated with any real sense of reliability or frequency sadly.

They've extended it so many times now it's been non-stop basically since the holidays last year.

Anyone heard if this is still going on? We were there in September and it was GREAT! Did some holiday shopping with it and saved a bundle. :xmas::shrug:

Not old, just vintage.

I was wondering this too. Can't find any info. I enjoyed not paying full price for pretty much everything last December. I was looking forward to doing the same this year too.

We just got back from our trip a week ago. I can confirm that the 10% discount is still going on. I flashed that card all over and got my discount, yay!

It was still in effect in the beginning of Oct. Also some times CMs aren't too sure what they're doing and they'll give regular AP holders the Premium AP discount of 20%. This has happened to us many times.

I usually tell them the I have both an AP and a Disney Visa to see which gets me the bigger discount. AP will get me 10% just about anywhere for merchandise, but lately when shopping at Uptown Jewelers or what have you, if I'm spending atleast $50, the Disney Visa will give me a 20% discount.

It sure is nice when you're buying something in the $200-$300 range (Olzsewski Main Street reproductions) and you end up getting $40-$60 off, plus if you have Disney Reward points, you can get something like the Train Station that normally runs $350 for like $200!

Grr, I hate the lack of communication. I was there Saturday the 16th and asked at Guest Services if the AP discount had been extended and she said no. :brick:

The reason I asked at Guest Services is because I asked at a shop and was told VERY RUDELY by the CM that a FL Resident Seasonal Annual Passholder is, in fact, not a Passholder. :brick: :brick::brick: I assured her I was and she told me no, I wasn't.

I didn't really buy anything last weekend but I'll be there again on the 30th so I'll try again then in the shops. I hate how information just does NOT get out there though.

we were told that a few times when we were Seasonal holders. One particular instance was at WoD during one of the EXTRA 10% off promotions they were doing. They gave us the discount one day, but the next day we were told it doesn't apply to us and that we shouldn't have gotten one the day before. Sometimes the CMs are on a powertrip it seems. Seriously, if it comes down to an argument, the CM should just give the Seasonal AP holder the discount for the sake of giving that return visitor a good experience and make it feel worth their while to spend their time and money there.

Yeah no kidding. I mean seriously, don't argue and be rude with guests!! I actually complained about her because her attitude was so poor. I normally go out of my way to compliment CM's who are really awesome but she was so rude and so out of life, I actually reported her behavior. The Guest Services CM agreed that was WAY out of line and that her manager would be informed.

There's just no call for arguing and being rude with a guest - especially when you're arguing false information!
