Past Rides

Discuss rides that have been taken out of Disney east and west. The rides that have been demolished in the Disney parks, think: was it a good decision to tear them down or was it a mistake? Post pictures if you want.

America Sings

I think America Sings was declining in popularity when it went defunct. It was a modest ride in a more-than-modest building. The characters seemed too similar to the ones from Splash Mountain:shrug:.

That's probably because the AAs in Splash are literally the exact same AAs from America Sings.

I really enjoyed the puppet show of the Legend of the Lion King that used to be in FantasyLand.

I have no idea why they would have removed it (other than they needed the space for Philharmagic) because it always seemed popular.

It's definitely a classic film, that still has a popularity and I like it 100 times more than the Voyage of the Little Mermaid (which is a similar vein...though not nearly as easy to follow, storywise)

Wow - total difference of opinion. I thought that was the worst attraction I had ever experienced (keep in mind this was before Stitch took over Alien Encounter). It has actually kept me from attending all stage shows since then. I recall getting stuck in the middle of a row and not being able to leave and getting really, really annoyed!

I miss 20,000 Leagues. It was especially painful to see the lagoon cemented over. Hopefully this new incarnation of the space will be better than a playground!

I miss the original Journey Into Imagination, Horizons, and World of Motion. But the thing I miss most of all, is the Tapestry of Dreams/Nations parade. (I like both versions) I also miss Spectromagic but that may come back.
