I believe there was another thread on this when the rumor went up on Screamscape....

I really didn't think there was enough land there for a whole resort! I hope it isn't too big, I would hate to have a moderately tall structure sticking up between WL and FW.

Look at what the author cites as the source. (This is the same article that said, "according to the internet", the Monsters Inc. coaster was greenlit and a country was coming to Epcot for its 30th. They're all valid rumors but they're really just re-stating what we've seen here.)

This article is completely wrong. There is not a DVC in the works to be built on the River Country plot.

For TDO to just completely turn their heads and pretend this are no longer exists is in IMO one of the worst things they have ever done. One of the most wasteful things I have ever seen. From the electricity to power the music that still place and the lights that still come on to the land that Disney purchased for his ideas. It's just so bad. Sorry, guys...didn't mean to rant.

wish they did something with abandoned sites right now at disney, but there's too much stuff to be done in epcot as it is right now and the others...

It's probably happening near it. Hopefull River Country will be the new resort's pool if actually made.

It would make sense for it to link WL and FWC.

Another one?

I am glad raven is here to prove this wrong. :)

I say what I can when I can. But plans often change.

Blue Sky concepts were made and I was referring to them (the 2nd quote wasn't about RC). But until I see concrete evidence of them moving forward on the site then I'll just call them "plans." But then there are "plans" for a lot of areas all over the WDW as well. It just doesn't mean any of them have a leg to stand on yet.

Repurposed? I don't see how that place would be structurally sound these days. I don't believe it. I think it would be too expensive and too hard to clean everything up at this point to make it even remotely inhabitable for guests. :veryconfu

Not a DVC.... interesting wording.
Is there something else coming to that plot?

Members like yourself are starting to notice how carefully I choose my words. I'm just being sure not to start any faulse rumors. Can't say much about stuff but I will say that in the past couple of weeks some members have hit the nail on the head to a few of them. They just don't know it.

No, I'm not telling which ones. :animwink:

Which is why only concepts are made. That area is very swampy and there are many other areas on property that could be developed without the mess of unstable ground. Then again, stranger things have happened.
