Give a Day/Get a Day Voucher

Hi all - has anyone used these yet? I have one, but would like a 3 day hopper. Is there a way to upgrade? and if so do you know the discount rate?

Also, if I can't upgrade thinking about using the FastPass option they mention on the site. Is this like the Dream FastPass was?

My fiancé and I each had a voucher. We opted for the Fastpasses as well. One voucher is good for your entire party, so if you have 2 vouchers you have 2 days of fastpasses, 3 vouchers you get 3 days of fastpasses, etc. Everyone in your party gets a fastpass card and it is good for 6 attractions: 3 from the Donald group (E-tickets) and 3 from the Daisy Group (smaller attractions). You can use them any way you want- like you can use all of your Donald passes on the same ride or one for each attraction- however you like. You can't upgrade Daisy attractions for Donald ones of downgrade Donald attractions for Daisy ones. The card is only valid for that day in the park you redeem the voucher at. The fastpasses are valid immediately so you don't have to wait around, and you can still use your park ticket to get regular fastpasses. We saved our for DHS on a very crowded day w/ Fantasmic! playing and for our final morning- so we were able to hit every attraction we wanted one last time before leaving for the airport.

Interesting! Thanks for the info!

You can use it to upgrade to a "bigger" ticket, but you must do it THAT DAY. You can't wait until the day after you get it/use it ... you MUST do the upgrade on the day you use the ticket.

You will get the monetary value of a 1-day base ticket ($79 + tax) towards the larger ticket you wish to buy.

Yup!

I used mine to renew my AP actually, so you can use it towards upgrades, AP's and even AP renewals.

Basically, they print the one day ticket and then in the SAME transaction, they print up the upgraded ticket type (be it MYW/AP/etc.) and apply the amount of the 1-day ticket and void the 1-day ticket. You pay the difference.

Will Call is the place to pick up your vouchers and you just let them know you want to upgrade the voucher. They know how to do it. :)

So when I book my trip If I want a 3 day MYW ticket I should purchase a two day MYW ticket with my trip and then Disney will change that to a three day when I arrive. I need to do this at the Will call window and not at the resort when I check in?????

Anything regarding rhe GADGAD voucher MUST be done at a park ticket window and NOT at your resort.

I don't have trime now (I'm running out to work), but you will be best served to not already have a ticket, you will be better served to upgrade the GADGAD ticket rather than trying to get credit for it on top of another ticket. Long story. More tonight.

I am interested in your thoughts on this. I need to add one wrinkle to it all. I was planning on using free dining. I believe i am required to purchase a two day ticket to get the free food. I will check back later tonight.

So as I was saying, the GADGAD voucher must be exchanged at will-call at a theme park (not your resort, not a water park, and so on).

Disney doesn't allow you to combine two tickets into one combined upgraded ticket. So if you booked a room with the free dining plan promotion, you will already have a park ticket. Since you will already have a park ticket as part of your resort package, you can't use the GADGAD ticket or the GADGAD ticket's cash value ($79 + tax) to upgrade your existing ticket.

You have two choices:
1) exchange the GADGAD voucher for something else (details to follow); or
2) whatever minimum ticket purchase you need to make to qualify for the free dining promotion, SAVE that ticket, don't use it now, SAVE IT for a future Disney World trip ... unused tickets never expire. The GADGAD ticket can't be saved, as it MUST be used on the day it is obtained. So you get the free GADGAD ticket and then pay to upgrade it to a 3-day ticket (or whatever it is you need) ... a 3-day base ticket costs $219 + tax at the gate, so you would pay $149 ($219 - $79) to upgrade the 1-day GADGAD ticket to a 3-day ticket.

If you don't want to put your newly-bought tickets from the package in a drawer for future use, you have the following options to use your GADGAD voucher:

a) FASTPASS exchange cards - one GADGAD voucher will cover you for up to 6 total people in your party. They're valid only on that exact day at that exact park.

b) a voucher redeemable for a special "Ear Hat" figurine and four Disney trading pins.

c) you can donate your free ticket to your choice of Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida, Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern California, or Dreams Take Flight Canada.

Could you be more specific?

Are you asking if you can upgrade a ticket you have as part of a Disney package? Absolutely! As long as you're not upgrading to an Annual Pass, you can do it right at your resort if you want to.

I was wondering if they would put the $79 per ticket towards my vacation package that includes tickets.... I think you were answering yes, correct? I am super excited if that is the case!

I don't think so... I'd be VERY surprised if this were the case. $79 is the value of one day if you only purchase ONE day, but I think your "upgrade" would be to tack on a day to your existing tickets (i.e. 5-days become 6-days). Again, I may be wrong, but your best bet might be the special exchange fastpass program, especially if multiple people volunteered. You get the special fastpasses for a day for your ENTIRE party for each person who volunteered. In other words, if 4 people volunteered, you'd get 4 days of special exchange fastpasses for your whole party.

No, not correct. I already addressed this in post #10 in this thread:

We are applying ours towards our Florida resident annual passes - sweet deal! If anyone is planning a possible second trip to WDW within the next year they might want to consider the annual pass route. Have fun!!
