Mickey Mouse's mean makeover erased from Wii game

That was what made the game look interesting, I think they're making a bad move here by changing it. I don't think focus groups would work because as the article made it sound, they weren't interviewing "gamers".

Focus groups are the source of all things lame in the world. The news is really a bit disappointing to me at least, takes the uniqueness of the title away. If they are taking issue with x character being "altered", then they could just as easily apply that logic to every other character/locale in the game. That, and I have yet to see any evidence that the game can live up to the absolute awesome concept art that was put out for it. I think the chances of the ruined SSE/Earful Tower/Monstro thing actually showing up in game are slim.

But I would like to be surprised!

Im going to get it for sure. If they had made Mickey totally evil I would have been disapointed. Im glad they backed it off a little.

I was not aware of the "snarling rat Mickey" in the game. Every article I had read was that the game would change based on your actions/paths in the game and the "bad Mickey" would be called "scrapper."

Either way, it looks like a very good game, can't wait to see more of the news from E3.

From what I hear, depending on what you choose in the game, your character can either turn out good, neutral or bad. Perhaps this can alter the look of Mickey? Some of the EARLY screen shots, the game looked like a cheap license Disney title. For me, these changes are actually going to send me into the store the day it comes out. Looks awesome. Nintendo, you just made 50 bucks off me. Bravo.

I liked the 'new' look for Mickey. It seemed very video game appropriate. Especially considering the storyline of the game.
Guess most people hate any kind of change. :(

I feel like this is going to be a huge letdown for a lot of people, regardless of how fun the game is. All the early hype pointed to this being a dark, bada$$ game that would be revolutionary for Disney. Instead it doesn't really look that much more dark than say, Kingdom Hearts meets Mario Galaxy.

I never like the look of a mean Mickey. I don't even like the way he looks in Runaway Brain. I wonder how Walt would feel.

I would definitely recommend reserving judgment until the game releases as they often listen to what people are saying while playing the games at E3 to see if they need to make any adjustments...

I think what people are missing is that it was one of the biggest hits/surprises at E3 this year. Hands-on by the "gamers" were ALL positive. IGN and Gamespot all had great interviews and reviews of the game and these guys mentioned nothing about this change.

As usual at E3, you were only given a couple levels to try out, but we did learn alot. As with Mario, Mickey can jump into other worlds, this way through movie screens, and the one they showed at the conference was jumping into Steambot Willie, and it looked incredible...

Given what we have seen from just the Adventureland level was enough to make me start saving for this one...
