Florida resident and guest question.

My wife and I are Florida residents and currently have Seasonal Passes. We have a couple friends that will be going to the parks for a few days and one of them had a question that I did not know the exact answer to. I have a hunch, but no 100% answer. Is there any way that I am missing that would allow me to purchase 2 additional park hopper tickets at a discount? I mean any way that won't get me busted... :lookaroun

Again, as far as I can tell and through all of my searches, my guess is no, but I told them I would ask.

Thanks,

-Jeff

You can get away with that if they are kids but any Florida resident ticket that will be used by someone old enough to have ID will require that they present proof of residency.

I have noticed that they never look at our id when we go through the gates, could my wife and I purchase Dream pass hopper tickets and then after verifying our ID give them to our friends to use? I know that this is skirting the rules...Again, I told them I would ask, and I don't wish to be a liar.

Are there any better rates for a 7 day MYW ticket going on right now that are cheaper than from the Disney.com site?

Quite true but the risk is if something goes wrong...like the ticket becoming demagnetized. At that point you have to go to guest services and present ID, the ID's wont match then the black CIA helicopters show up, etc, etc.

Have a look at Maple leaf or undercover tourist.

I've been in pretty much the same boat for years. All I can tell you is that if there is a way to get discount tickets based on your status as either SP or FL resident, I haven't been able to find it.

There are some things you can share with guests, as long as you are with them. Many of the discounts I get with my AP (assume they're the same or similar for SP), such as dining discounts and mini-golf discounts for example, are usually good for the passholder and a certain number of guests. We saved a few bucks on lunch at the Rainforest Cafe that way. If the pass includes free parking, like my AP, the passholder just has to be in the car.

Also on the off chance that there happens to be a passholder preview for a new or newly reopening attraction, passholders usually are allowed to bring guests to such events as well.

But, when it comes to theme park admission, Disney will get their money.

Looking to be about $521 with tax and will call pickup for two 7 day MYW w/ Parkhopper. It amazes me at these prices when you compare them to the resident passes.

Can you bring them to your DMV and get a state issued ID card using your address? I did it for a friend of mine who lived with me for a summer and there was no problem.

You just ain't whistling Dixie. It is one of the reasons that I will more than likely never move out of the state of Florida.

You haven't been to the FL DMV yet this year, have you?

You need to provide more proof of identity than previously, including a marriage certificate, court ordered name change, etc if the name on your birth certificate doesn't match your current name.

I don't know if they are being as strict about the ID cards (vs driver's license) but I wouldn't count on doing it anymore.

I was able to renew my license a couple of days before the change in rules.

I thought you were required to provide your fingerprint at the purchase window, but I could be wrong.
Yes, they do the biometric scan (not finger prints but finger shape) at the ticket window now. So when you buy the FL Resident ticket, you have to scan your finger right then and there so you can't just hand it off. Previously, the first time the biometrics were scanned was at the turnstyle itself, which allowed for the I buy it but hand it to you trick.

Now? Yeah, they account for that too. :(
