thread closure

Question: Have you ever had the "wdwmagic" administrator close a thread on you? If so, how did it make you feel? Sad? Confused? Angry?

I had a thread closed on me for the very first time since I joined. I had a topic in the wrong category for the thread (seaworld topic in news) and it had already been discussed (I was 24 hrs late on the breaking news)...

Feel free to add your thoughts and/or experiences...or maybe this thread will be closed too???

First, it is pretty easy living around here.... and there are only a few things that can guarantee a thread closure. One of them is starting a vague thread about breaking news 24 hours late when there is already one in progress.

It isnt that you wanted to start a thread about the event or had an opinion. You basically started a thread and asked if anyone had heard of the event when it had been splattered over every news outlet. You could get away with that in chit chat probably.

Steve, the owner of the site, is the one that shut it down. I would suggest not making waves with the admins if they ask you to correct your behavior, shut down your thread or for any other reason. In the end, it is their site and we are just guest. Some of us paying guest. :wave:

Enjoy your stay and just look around a bit before starting a thread.

Usually people start threads with a question or an opinion to discuss. Not an open statement like, "Hey guys, have you heard"... and yes, not in general discussion. Take that to Chit chat or the proper off property thread.

Yes...I have..and it made me sad, angry,:fork: confused..:veryconfuI started doubting myself..I wondered if people were talking about me behind my back..(I am sure they were/are)...I quit eating and I could not sleep at night..I lost my friends..my husband left me and people laughed at me every time I signed back on magic..I know they did..I could feel it!...

It is the worst feeling ever...

It's not that big of a deal. The administrators of most internet forums delete or close threads that contain topics that are already being discussed....it just keeps things nice and neat. When there is some sort of breaking news or a huge rumor, it is very common for multiple people to start threads about it...you will see that one or two are usually kept open and then the rest are closed. Don't take it personally...it is just "housekeeping".

Here's one for you (I'm hoping a mod might stumble across this thread and actually help me) ...

Several months back, I had my account ("Krack") frozen one day and nobody ever told me why. To the best of my knowledge, I had only written like three or four posts at the time - hadn't had any arguments with anyone - and hadn't started any new threads. Personally, I think it was an accident and a mod somewhere hit the wrong button on the wrong account.

But, I tried contacting several mods through PM and nobody ever responded. It must be a terrible inconvenience. I just want my original account back; there's something defeating about being "Krack2".

Im not going to speak for maggiegrace, but I sense she was poking fun of the thread/you. I could be wrong.

I dont think the mods "accidentally" delete accounts without cause. Not implying you deserved it... but maybe they just say no too Krack
