We took advantage of this offer last year (and will be next year) and stayed at OKW.

OKW was brilliant and we'll definately be staying there again this year. It seems a lot smaller than SS. The transport to and from was never overcrowded and the atmosphere and cast members were excellent.

I like SSR over OKW and they are right next to each other so the distance to the parks are about the same. these two resorts are located by down town disney so they are about 10 to 20 minutes away from the parks. Just google earth it and it'll give you and idea of where on the property the resorts are.

If you're going for a "Studio" room (as opposed to a 1BR or 2BR villa), the rooms at OKW will be bigger, but they all have 2 queen beds, as opposed to SSR which will have 1 queen and a pull out couch. If there are more than 2 people going, OKW will probably be the better choice, but if it's just two, you may feel like the extra bed is wasted space, and you'd rather have the couch.

Both resorts have boat access to Downtown Disney. There are more parts of SSR that are walkable to Downtown Disney (and the closest sections of OKW to DTD are still a good deal farther away than the closest sections of SSR).

SSR has more quiet pools, and a nicer main pool. When we were last there in December of 08 ,they tended to show movies on an inflatable screen by the pool every night. Not sure if OKW does.

For resorts this size, both have, in my opinion, inadequately small counter service options. I often recommend to people staying at SSR to request the Congress Park section. It will get you closest to DTD on the Marketplace side, so you'll have more quick dining options (and it will probably be much faster, even if you walk to DTD) then going to the Artists' Palette.

Both have pleasant grounds for a stroll if the weather's not too hot.

I stayed at SSR on a solo trip in October and really liked the resort a lot. I was a little worried about it at first, after reading all of the reviews and everyone saying that it's too big (I get turned around very easily), bus transportation is bad etc. I didn't have any problems at all. At check in one of the cast members gave me a ride in a golf cart to my building and he pointed out the pools and my bus stop. I was in The Grandstand section which was, at that time, the first stop going to the parks. The main pool was really nice and the quiet pool in my section was very large as well. I was there during food & wine specifically to attend that and some Eat to the Beat shows so I didn't utilize the dining much, but did go to the quick service for breakfast one morning and I agree with Slappy, it's much too small for a resort of this size. I just grabbed a waffle and took it back to my room.

After months of saying that we would probably not ever stay at SSR, I have told DH that I would definitely stay there again!

Well, I've never eaten at Olivia's, but I can tell you that the Turf Club at SSR is a pretty nice restaurant, nice steaks, rarely busy and some great views. if anyone in your party is a shopaholic, boat service to DTD is a big plus at either resort, but being at SSR, again, makes it an easier walk, especially in the Congress Park section. Each time we've stayed at SSR, there was one night we stayed in for an early night, and I walked over to Wolfgang Puck Express for takeout (they also make some great breakfast dishes, and they're rarely busy during breakfast, definitely suggest it over Artists' Palette).

I'm not sure if OKW has bike rentals, but SSR definitely does, including surrey bikes if you're into that sort of thing.

Idef love the closeness to DTD because the buses there are a nightmare so being able to walk or take a boat is a huge plus for me

Wow thats not too bad at all!!! Any more details u can give me???? Its an amazing offer!!

Ask any questions and I'll do my best to help!

We loved OKW, was extremely easy to get anywhere. When we had ADRs at other resorts we hopped on the boat down to Downtown Disney and then a bus to the necessary resort.

Rooms were extremely clean and very spacious. We had a studio and a 1 bed villa and both were perfect. Our balcony overlooked the tee of the LBV golf course!
