Illuminations (2000): Reflections of Earth is 10!

Although not considered the official day, it should be noted that 10 years ago today, a favorite show of many people, Illuminations: Reflections of Earth (then called Illuminations 2000: Reflections of Earth) was shown for the first time to guests in Soft opening. It's hard to believe that it was 10 years ago, and the show is still as impressive today, and has only been though minor changes.

So Happy Birthday to RoE!!! Just pointing out the date as I'm sure many would have otherwise overlooked it. It should also be noted that Tapestry of Nations did NOT soft open this day, but a few Days later, although both shows share a grand opening date.

Happy Anniversary to my favorite show at WDW of ALL TIME! :sohappy::D It's inspiring, the story of our planet as told through fireworks, symbols, and music. Amazing.

Here's too a lifetime more of memories!

Here's to many more years of IllumiNations, be it Reflections of Earth, or a brand new wonderful show!

That Announcer Guy said:
Good evening, and welcome! We've gathered here tonight, around the fire, as people of all lands have done for thousands and thousands of years before us, to share the light, and to share a story... an amazing story, as old as time itself, yet still being written. And though each of us has our own individual stories to tell, a true adventure emerges when we bring them all together as one. I hope you enjoy our story tonight... Reflections of Earth...

I saw it just a few days after...I first saw it on the "Cast Preview" night, from the Japan balcony I believe. (Though everyone could watch) Imagination was still closed though, because they were having trouble getting the awful up and running.

Then some time after that was the Passholder evening...With awesome free pins.
:D

Those weeks were Good times in my Disney history.

IllumiNations pins exist!? Now want, but need! Do you have a pic?

And yes, very good days in a personal Disney History. I remember seeing it in June, on my birthday, and listening to my mom scream that something went wrong, and that's why there was a huge fire in the middle of WS Lagoon.....I would try to tell her that it was OK, but she would only listen to a CM.

 At least you remember your first time seeing Illuminations. I believe mine was back around 2000, in December.

Of course, I can't even remember if it was that accurate....

Your all CRAZY!! Nothing Beats the Original. The Original Illuminations is, and was the best show ever. You can have all the new fireworks, fireballs and lasers you want, but without the musical score that went along with the original show through the 80's and most of 90's, ROE will always be second rate. The simple ending alone of have the continents scroll across SSE makes the original far superior. Sorry I am a purist and beleive in the old saying "If it aint broke, Don't fix it". Epcot has never been the same since they changed that show and destroyed Horizons. Just one persons opinion.

My absolute favorite firework show at WDW! The musical score to the show is just amazing as well, as the 360-degree globe. I've seen the show at least 30 time since 2000.

There are some cool parts but I am not so crazy about watching a globe that you can barley see for like 10 minutes. Wheres the laser images. They used to have more fireworks, crazy lasers, and not so boring. Keep the story but change the show. Yeah the first time is great but it is old and boring. I like the score but they need more effects at times and the globe part needs some improvement. Bring back the fountain laser images for crying out loud. Use mesh instead of water so the view of the globe isn't blocked. Play the baby scene as the earth is coming out along with the dinosaur and play the space scene when the space that turns into a klydescope that would go so good at that part along with the shooting stars part.
