So - On the Wikipedia, there is a list of all Disney Never Built Attractions. Its pretty cool to see some of the Blue Sky ideas that never came through.
There are two Epcot attractions that have been semi-built - but never opened.
Meet the World - Imagineers were planning to build same attraction in two places, Epcot and at Tokyo Disneyland, only the Tokyo version was built and closed in 2002. The Epcot version was mentioned in most pre-opening materials. The show building was built and still stands empty, and scripts and music were translated. However, Disney feared opposition from Florida's large population of veterans over the shows Japan-centric view of World War II, merely described by a few words about a conflict and animated explosions covering a screen then jumping to the nation's miraculous economic recovery. The attraction might have been sponsored by Japan Airlines and/or Panasonic, just as the attraction was in Tokyo Disneyland.
Anyone know where this show building is? Do you have photos to describe location?
Rhine River Cruise - A cruise down Germany's most famous rivers – the Rhine, the Tauber, the Ruhr and the Isar. Detailed miniatures of famous landmarks will also be seen, including one of the Cologne Cathedral. Planned for the Germany Pavilion at Epcot. The building that would have housed the ride is still visible at the Germany pavilion along with the ride entrance section.
Anyone know where this show building is? And where the entrance is?
Any photos or info would be greatly appreciated!
