Epcot Art Gallery Question?

I have heard of it.

If I understood it correctly, EPCOT's Teacher Center was where teachers could obtain classroom supplies, like brochures, guides, graphs, and other tools to educate in their classes. I have heard of books based on FW pavilions.

From another website:
Study guides and EPCOT educational materials were sold here. One such item was a film about agriculture called "Harold and his Amazing Green Plants."

It opened in 1983 and closed in 1994 with the EPCOT Center/Epcot94 change.

For some reason I kinda think it was...but I am not 100% sure pretty much because I never went in there before it was TAOD store.

Was this always an art gallery and could you ever go to the second floor?

When Communicore was dehabbed into Innoventions in 1994 the Teachers Center/EPCOT Outreach was relocated in this location. The second floor was something called the Field Trips Shop (IIRC), and was for teachers use only. It contained computers and software of interest to teachers. If it is still there I don't know.

That's all from memory, so further input would be nice.

As has been stated, the location originally served as what was variously known as the EPCOT Outreach/Teacher's/Discovery Center, and was given the boot in 1999 by the Art of Disney, moved from the upstairs at Centorium, which was being converted into MouseGear. It's a little more complicated than all of that, but that's basically the gist of it. It featured educational resources based on EPCOT and other things throughout Walt Disney World. The upstairs is now just office/meeting space.

Nice.

Now that I've given it some more thought, I seem to remember now that Art of Disney is in the part of the building that was added in 1994 (that's where that 'a bit more complicated' part comes in). What's pictured there I believe would be closer to where Where's the Fire? is now.

I'm sure Martin will show up with his amazing charts any time now, and have it pinpointed to within a millimeter for us. :D

Exactly. Although that white section west of the gray corridor is what was added in '94, and did not exist in the CommuniCore days.

Yep - it was a green, landscaped patch of Futureworld. In 1994 they built the 2 storey extention on the north west end of `West - initially it became Field Trips when the teachers center was moved / demolished, with the gallery upstairs on the Centorium mezzanine, then the gallery moved to the extention in 1998-9 when Centorium was removed.

man you really love getting upstairs, huh? lol thats ok me too.

I went up there once but there really isn't anything at all to see except some really nice offices, but thats it. from what i remember as soon as you get to the top of the stairs, there's a locked, glass door.
