ADR's - thinking outside the box to get your reservations

To those who are familiar with the dining reservation system and how it works, it's search capabilities, and it's limitations:

Maybe I've been going about it the wrong way all these years. Each time I call for a reservation I call the Disney Dining Reservation number, when I get an agent on the phone I give him/her the date and the restaurant we want, and they say whether or not they have an opening around the desired time frame, then I either book or go with Plan B restaurant...

...What would happen if I called and instead asked them "When do you show an open morning or an open evening reservation opening for {insert restaurant name} during the week of mm/dd/yyyy?"

Can they see a weeks worth (or a weekend's worth) of reservations at once for a specific restaurant, like in a calendar view? So they can instead tell me when I can get in, instead of when I cannot get in?

As a local, ultimately I think it would be nice to ask the agent something like "When is the next Friday or Saturday dinner opening at Le Cellier? Oh not for 3 weeks? Not a problem, I'll take it."

Is this even possible? Can the system handle such a request? Can the agent search this way?

THANKS!

Yes
When I have called they say things like its not available that day but it is for this day and time yada yada....

It would be at least nice if online if gave more time options.

Try the online reservation system. I used it for the first time recently and thought it worked really well. Then you can easliy try all the different times you were thinking of.

The online reservation system does allow you to enter a "Date Range". You need to check the "Date Range" checkbox to enable it. However, it currently only allows for a 5 day search window. Wish it was more, but I guess that is a start.

You just enter blocks of five days. It's a chore but allows you to check as many days as you want.
