The World Showcase, WDW most neglected area?

I know a lot if people think that Epcot gets too much love, but I was thinking the other day that WS might be the los neglected area in WDW. Not all of the countries were there when Epcot opened but I don't think a new one has been added in almost 20 years (not sure if it's been that long feel free to correct me). There hasn't been any bug let alone medium upgrades to the existing countries really ever. I don't coin a new film to Canada, and slapping Donald into Mexico anythin more than a slight alteration. There should be a small attraction in each country and we are way over due for a few new ones.

1. Do you agree with me that it's the most neglected area in WDW?
2. If not what area do you feel is the most neglected?

1.) Last addtion was in 1989.

2.) Japan just got an extensive refurb. Most of the pavilions get a "refresh" annually.

3.) The need for an attraction in every pavilion is not what World Showcase is about. It's supposed to give the guest a brief look into the country, and it's culture.

4.) I'd rather see a new country added, then an attraction.

I agree. I'd really like a couple new countries. I enjoyed the MILLENIUM CELEBRATION pavillion. It had several nice countries represented.

I think there needs to be a couple of attractions added to the other side of World Showcase to help balance it out. They don't need to be huge attractions, just a C-ticket would be nice. While I understand its not the point of World Showcase, a good number of people come to the park looking solely for rides and attractions.

A couple of ideas I've had would be a Marry Poppins ride in the UK where she shows us around the country. Of course we've all heard about the river rapid ride in Canada. I don't know if I'm crazy about the idea, but I do think its necessary.

I'd be happy with two small C-tickets equal to whats already there, and the addition eventually of one more country.

I don't think rides are what the ws is about. A couple of small rides are fine. But it doesn't need an indoor coaster or anything. I would like to see more added. Like spain.

To me WS is mostly about the restaurants and Illuminations. Another small attraction or two like the ones at Mexico and Norway would be nice, or a couple more movies like the ones at France, Canada, China and Norway. But I don't think a major ride and the traffic patterns that would accompany it belong in WS.

Just remember the WS is partially sponsored by the actual countries. It would be tough to justify an expenditure to Disney when the world economy is struggling.:)

I think a lot of you are missing my point, I don't really think that lack of rides is the only problem, and I don't want any characters at all weather it's Mary Poppins or Aladdin. My point is that there hasn't been any major additions since 88 or 89, and slapping Donald into Mexico and a new film in Canada do not count. Thats 20 years with nothing at all going on except cosmetic upgrades. There isn't another area in WDW that hasn't seen a big or even moderate attteaction upgrade. There is room for 7 more countries that is what WS needs more countries maybe some small rides but no character integration.

Personally, I would rather see the money spent elsewhere.

I enjoy the WS as it is and as it has been. It is what it is. A nice environment to relax and enjoy the different countries. Spend the money on a ride elsewhere but why squeeze another pavilion into an already packed in park. If you start squeezing in countries between the existing countries, you'll kill a lot of the theming of each pavilion. And why add another little attraction? Within the current pavilions, there's just not a lot or room for anything worth while. What, another boat ride or movie? Just my opinion. :D

Where? And define what constitutes a new pavilion? A single gelato cart? Cramming in more countries would kill WS... Leave it spacious. :o

It is common knowledge that there is room for 7 more countries, in another thread someone posted a map of each plot that could hold another country and most of them would be the same size if not bigger than the current countries.

I've seen the map but it doesn't mean it's a smart or desirable thing to do. Part of what I enjoy most about WS is how big it is. The walk from country to country. I'd hate to see no trees or space between the countries to offer separation. Just because Disney has provided a map doesn't make it a good idea. (See American Idol)... How nice would AK be if it was placed on a lot the size of the Studios? I dunno, I don't think they have the room to add more countries and still carry the feeling of vastness that adds so much to this section of the park... :)

They don't have to add the 7 but I wouldn't mind a few, Egypt, Australia a few would be nice. If they don't ad any I think they should plus the existing ones with a few attractions.
