Lion King Broadway Seating

Hi, I decided to go see the Lion King on Broadway. I'm looking at two different seating options. The first option is row S or T center stage in the orchestra. The second option is row A center stage in the mezz. I saw Little Mermaid from the mezz and was upset that most of the special effects were ruined. I don't know if it would be the same for the Lion King. Thanks for insight!

I have only seen the show once and we sat 1st row mez and loved it. I don't think sitting there ruins anything and in fact I think it is a great view. I don't want to say more and ruin the show.

You will love it!

Either option would be fine, in my experience, as long as it is center. There are a lot of panoramic scenes where it's good to see the "big picture". But I prefer seeing facial expressions, so I sit closer. It's really about personal preference. Have fun! It's a spectacular show.

I personally recommend for anyone seeing it for the first time that they sit in the Orchestra seating. I think the special effects would probably look slightly better from there too.

I always prefer first row mezzanine if i can get them. I dont mind if the special effects are ruined I spend my time trying to see how they do things anyway.

The orchestra in Row S/T at the Minskoff is well underneath the mezzanine overhang. The top 1/3rd of the stage will be cut off. Definitely go with front row mezzanine.

Alternatively, wait until closer to the performance date, when they release the house seats, usually between 24-48 hours of the performance.

I do part time work as a merch clerk in NY, though not at the Minskoff, so PM me if you have any other questions.

we sat 2nd row orchestra when we saw the show. It was fun to be so close to stage, but it would have been EVEN BETTER to be in the front row mezz, due to all that happens out in the theater and around you during some of the big numbers. Row S-T orchestra is pretty far back, and you'll miss some of the stuff that happens at some points during the show. Definitely go Mezz. You'll love it!

Go see Mary Poppins the Lion King was the worst stage show I have seen, I work in theatre and see shows every week and I have seen this is the west end too. The singers were weak and had no passion they needed a change they were bored and it showed badly. Overall very dull and the songers/actors at FOTLK out these broadway ones to shame!
