I just orders tickets for me and my friend for the Keys to the Kingdom tour when we go in April, and I wanted to know if anyone has been before, and what it is like! I'm SUPER excited, and just wanted to know what to expect, IE Where they take you, what you get to see, etc.

Thanks!

Keys to the Kingdom tour is great. My DW and I took the tour on our Honeymoon 3 years ago. We are both avid Disney fans, but we still learned something new on the tour. You get to see "On stage" and "Off stage" sites. We went on HM and JC. They point out tons of interesting facts and sites in MK. I believe we were "off stage" 3 times. They give you lunch in CHH. I recommend the tuna sandwich. It was a wonderful experience. If you enjoy this tour you should look into the Backstage Safari at AK. We love that tour as well.

For cute stories and plenty of pixie dust - Keys to the Kingdom.
For the nuts and bolts, seriious backstage dirt - Backstage Magic.

Personally, I liked KttK better back before they cut out most of the utilidor portion.

KttK is great and a better price per hour than BSM. You get to go on a few rides, see backstage areas (BS West and Main Street East), and go into the utilidors for a few minutes.

BSM is amazingly awesome. I had the fortune of taking that tour once before 9/11, and we actually went into the utilidors from the north main entrance, and actually went into DACS, AND got to see them operating the 3:00 parade from the control room in DACS. It was absolutely amazing.

The last time we took BSM, it was still really cool, but only spent 15-20 mins down there.

I LOVED KttK on my last trip. We spent quite a while in the utilidoors (Around 20 minutes or so) and that was worth the money I spent. The trips on the Jungle Cruise and Haunted Mansion were kind of time fillers, but I wasn't disappointed.

Maybe I had a rare experience but we were in the utilidors for what felt like forever! I went this past July.

We also went to see the parade floats backstage, which our guide Matthew said isn't always done anymore. I don't know if he just said that to make us feel special, or if it's actually true. Either way, it was cool to see, so I hope you get to do that.

We rode The Haunted Mansion, and got to see the other entrance which was interesting. We rode the Jungle Cruise too. Lunch was at the Columbia Harbor House. My favorite part was just walking through the park, and having our guide point out little things that I had never noticed before! I good chunk of the tour was doing that. :animwink:

You'll love it - it's amazing! Have fun!

Same thing here. Actually the parade float area along with Splash Mountain backstage was just as great as the utilidoors. Now that you said it, Matthew was also my tour guide in July and he is fantastic. Even other CM's at City Hall said he was the best tour guide.

I just booked this for our May trip yesterday. For the record, you get a 15% discount if you mention AAA membership.

I took the Backstage Magic tour - maybe 5 years ago. I really enjoyed it. The tour guide was asked very specifically if there was something we really wanted to see. I think that if there was, he would have made it happen if at all possible.
So my advice is to think ahead if there is something in particular you want to see, and if so, ask for it.
I did get to see the Utilidoors, and then we came back on stage as the afternoon parade was going on.
You will have a great time - enjoy!
