DJ's, VJ's, and Comedic Performers

Disney is currently holding equity auditions for DJ's, VJ's, and Comedic performers. Which brings to question, for what? I know the new Stitch show is coming soon that will utilize video technology but they had auditions for that not too long ago, but could it quite possibly mean that we could soon be dancing shirtless again on a rotating dance floor and sharing a Kungaloosh with a British Army Officer, a french maid, and a hairy beast? Anyone have any further insight?

What's a VJ?
:o

A long, long time ago there was this channel on cable called "MTV". They used to show something that we called a "Video"

Not knowing what to call the people that hosted the "Video's" we called them VJ's. Due to our only point of reference back then were DJ's.

It was a wonderful time it was known as the 80's. A soap start could be a rock star, and the only thing the government had to do was complain about song lyrics and put warning stickers on what was known as a "Record Album"

LOL. (I'm feeling old, too)

I believe a VJ is also the term used in the industry for an artist who works with video playback in a live situation. Kind of an extention of a lighting designer/board operator, but they work in video. So if there were videoscreens built into a nightclub, they'd be in charge of making sure the visuals are matching the music.

Interesting... maybe they are looking at getting some people for certain areas that can work in others as well.. PI Live is still going on correct? maybe they need to rehire those VJs? Comedians could be streetmasphere with a side job...

You mean you remember when MTV used to actually show music videos?

I barely remember this old show called TRL...

Yet I remember spring break :zipit:

According to the Disney Auditions website, the VJ call is for Atlantic Dance at the Boardwalk. It doesn't specify any particular roles/locations for the comedic performers.

Rob,

Now you made me feel even older...I did not realize VJ's are no longer the VJ's I thought they were...I guess they go in the vault along with carbon paper, rotary dial phones, 8-tracks, Beta max, record albums
