Hey All...
I headed over to MVMCP last night and just wanted to go over a few things from the evening. Hopefully, pics will be coming soon.
We headed over to the Polynesian a little early so that we could have lunch and look at decorations at the Poly and GF. Arrived at Poly at about 2pm, aiming to have lunch at Kona Cafe and then go to GF to look at the Gingerbread house. Kong had a 30 minute walk up wait, so we went to GF first and then made the whole loop to go back to Kona.
Ran into a little snafu at Kona, even though the previous host told us to return in about a 1/2 hour, when we arrived they told us they were no longer accepting walk ups. They cleared up the situation though and seated us promptly. It was our first time to Kona, and we all thought it was good. I had the Kona Club (it was just alright, I liked what everyone else got more than mine)...the best I think was the Polynesian Lunch Plate, the steak version.
After lunch we headed over to MVMCP and got there at about 4:20pm, there was a HUGE line and lots of congestion getting in. I guess a lot of people know about getting in at 4pm now. We had printed our tickets offline and the only problem with that is using the fastpass...obviously our papers dont exactly fit into the Fastpass slots. The castmember at entrance told us to go to City Hall...they printed us out regular tickets and we were able to use fastpasses until 7pm.
First things first...the garland, christmas trees are all missing in the Main street area....um didnt they just tape the xmas parade yesterday? I think something is up...because Disney seems to be slacking on that front.
From there POTC had the shortest wait so we headed in that direction...we picked up a FP for BTMRR and then went to Pirates which had about a 10 minute wait. The first Davy Jones waterfall was working, the second one was not. From there we went to Jungle Cruise and had a great skipper, and I think my first time having a girl...she was really into it and we had a great boat.
After, JC we used our Fastpass on BTMRR which is always awesome. On the way to BTMRR we saw that Splash Mountain seemed to be stuck...I felt bad for those people who just came down the big drop as they were all just sitting wet bumps on a log.:lookaroun It was about 49 degrees out and a little cold for Splash Mountain for me.
After JC we went on Haunted Mansion which had a posted 20 minute wait, which turned out to be 10 minutes. EVERYTHING was overposted last night.
After Haunted Mansion we went to watch the castle lighting ceremony, which is listed as Cinderellas Christmas Wish, we were confused on the times guide. We got there about 10 minutes early and there was plenty of room in the area, but a lot of people turned out to see it and its DEFINITELY worth it. Its a very ooohhh ahhhh moment. I teared up a little...but how can you not.
After, the castle lighting ceremony we went to Monster's Inc. Laugh Floor...i'm still eh on this ride. Buzz's line was looking a little too long for our liking so we decided to check out Space Mountain's line and it was 10 minutes...SCORE! After getting our brains rattled we decided we needed some hot chocolate so we headed over to Sonny Eclipse's to get some and then hit up the teacups...which I havent ridden in years. It was fun to revisit.
After teacups, and thoroughly sugared up on hot chocolate and sugar cookies...which were delicious and hit the spot in the weather we conqured ALL (well most) of Fantasy land in about an hour...Pooh, Snow White, Peter Pan, Its A Small World...all while the first xmas parade was going on. Perfect timing.
With all of our rides fit in for the evening, we head over to the castle to watch the fireworks at about 9:20. The Holiday Wishes are THE BEST! Dont, dont, dont miss them...and make sure you are standing on Main Street facing the castle, because they have some really cool effects and they utilize the castle really well. After fireworks we still wanted to ride Buzz so we ran over and did that...thankfully the line was down, even though people were starting to swarm back in that area.
After Buzz we grabbed some hot dogs at Casey's and watched the Celebrate the Seasons castle show...it is not as good as the ones they have had in the past. I remember an AWESOME show way back in the day, that wasnt as watered down as this one seemed to be.
From there we scored curbside seats for the 10:30pm parade on Main Street...I recommend getting a seat for this parade, because its ridiculously long...but awesome. After the parade we headed out with the crowd and overall I thought we had a pretty great evening. Hit all the rides we wanted, had the extra value of the christmas stuff and it was STILL CHEAPER than a reglar days admission to WDW. I say go for it, plan out your time and load up on the hot chocolate!
Happy Holidays!
