Monarail confusion

I was just wondering if someone can explain what monarails go what way and when lol..

We will be taking it from MK to Contemp. then after breakfast to Epcot.. What is the best way to accomplish this? I also thought it would be neat to maybe on the way to Epcot, take the monarail around to show my friends poly and GF.

There are 3 monorail loops.

One that is express from the TTC (transportation and ticket center) to MK. (express meaning that it does not stop at the resorts-it goes right by)

One that is the resort loop. This one, starting at MK, goes to the Contemporary, the TTC, the Polynesian, the Grand Floridian, then back to MK. This one will stop at every location (including the TTC)

The last loop is the Epcot loop. It goes from Epcot to the TTC and back. It does not go to MK or to the MK resorts.

So to answer your question, when you are done eating at Chef Mickey's, board the monorail at the stop on the 4th floor. The very next stop will be the TTC, where you need to get off and change monorails to go to Epcot. However, if you want your friends to see the monorail resorts, simply don't get off, and ride around the entire loop. Then when you get back to the TTC the second time, get off and switch to the Epcot monorail. (you will have to go down stairs and back up the other side)

Up Front

When you ride to EPCOT - or any of the monorails - ask to sit up front. It is the very best way to get the whole effect of arriving at EPCOT or the MK.

It is how they identify the different monorails.

In other words, to the rider the colors mean nothing. A certain color does not allways work on the same loop.

To dispatch and the pilots, it does mean something.

wow, usually colors mean nothing to the guests, but i must say, after my trip this week, purple was AWFUL, i got in, the carpet falling apart, molding all falling apart in each car, it was by far the worst thing i saw at wdw this trip. next was red, it was being quite stubborn not doing what the pilot wanted it to do.:hammer:

Actually best way to do this is as follows.

After breakfast take resort monorail to TTC,change monorail and go to Epcot Monorail.On the way back, Epcot Monorail to TTC to Resort Monorail. Resort monorail will take you to Poly,GF,MK,and lastly back to Contemporary.
