Last Run to the Adventurers Club?

I'm intending to go to the Adventurers Club closing night and I have a few questions. The most important is a regarding the actual date of AC closing, I know that Saturday September 27th is the "date" but is that its last day open or is that the day it's closing? Meaning that Friday the 26th would actually be the last day. I have my tickets and I'm going either way, I just wanted to be absolutely sure.

That being said is any one else planing to go on the final night? I just want to know what kind of showing of the loyal fans might be planning that day. It might be silly but I'd like to "dress" for the occasion to totally immerse myself and possibly even have a "memorial service" for the passing of the AC once they kick out the last guests or maybe the next morning/afternoon.

I'm unable to make it to the Kingdom and Kungaloosh event this weekend, but I was hopping there might be something in the works or at least a good showing of my fellows for the last Hoopla.

I'm in the process of getting together an AC inspired outfit to wear.

... I've also began collecting plastic flowers for the memorial.

You will want to get to AC super early....like around 10 or 12 in the morning. I was there last Saturday the place was super packed. I have been there pretty frequently over the last 4 years and I have never seen the AC that busy. After talking to a few friends that are AC regulars it has been getting progressively busier every night as the closing looms closer. The final night is shaping up to be a total mad house.

As much as I'd love to go to AC on the last night, I imagine Master Yoda's prediction of a "total madhouse" is accurate. I'll be at WDW, so anything is possible, but I don't fancy waiting 12 hours outside the doors prior to opening.

I do plan to go at least one of the 4 nights I'll be there before the AC closes.

Master Yoda - how early did you arrive for your visit last w/e?

I was there at around 7:30 and there was already a short line. (just off the steps) The line made it nearly to the West Side bridge by opening. I left the club around 10:30. At that time the library and mask room were full. The salon and the treasure room were nearly 2/3's full and there wear around 20 people on the balcony. When I walked out the line to get in was still past the steps.

I'm sorry to hear that ... darn professors.

Well, things are looking up. Something good most likely has come from something bad (Hurricane Gustav). LSU is closed all this week, so now they'll have to push everything forward a week.

Adventurers Club here I come! And, I will gladly wait half a day to get in, as long as I can stay in the entire night and not have to reenter after each show. I will have plenty of time to take pics of PI and the amazing detail of the AC entrance.

I hope management is seeing this.

As do I. An AC themed dinner show akin to Hoop dee do would be a great fit at AKL.

Thanks! I hope the crowds will enhance and not hurt the experience of the last night. I'm prepared to fight my way into the library if I have to:lookaroun
I can tell you this....They did on that night. Had it not been for Kurt knowing me and my family I doubt I would have seen a single show.

I'd like that in addition to the current set-up. I like being able to peruse the different rooms and have one on one conversations with the characters

I could see it being like this:

Enter the "library" and sit down, order, etc.

1) Welcoming Party with Samantha Sterling, Fletcher Hodges, and Emil Bleehall
Salad and Bread
2) Radio Broadcast
Main Course
3) Balderdash Cup
Desert

Then, you can either leave or stay. At this point it turns into a bar again, and if you didn't do the dinner show, you can pay a cover to enter. Maybe they could even have a balcony for guests that just want to see the shows and not eat.

Just get there EARLY...It will probally be a very fun experience!:D
Fun but very sad after "When the Saints go Marching In" is finished. I hope the Hoopla is at least extended.

Well, I won't be afraid to fight my way to the library (liquid courage will help as well). Kirk is always good at finding a space for someone.

I'm starting to rethink going to AC at all during my upcoming trip. I think I'd prefer to remember it as the intimate experience I have enjoyed over the years rather than a hysterical crush.

The Hoopla won't be extended unless they cut the Maid Sing-A-Long and just do a 45 minute Hoopla, I think they have some restrictions going past 1am during a show. Either way I know it will be a night to remember.

I was having a conversation with a AC regular that I have come to know over the years and we kind of came to the same conclusion. I would like to remember the club the way it was. If possible I would try to get there on a weekday and see if it is a bit more manageable.

I wouldn't mind that actually. Just let the maid that night sing a song during the Hoopla.
