Hello all! With the advent of my new iMac and its accompanying awesomeness, I'm trying my hand at a photo update. Now, I don't have the best camera, nor do I usually take a lot of pictures, so a couple of these are a little blurry, funny lighting, etc. Hope you all enjoy!

First off, The Wave is open on the first floor where the Food & Fun Center used to be:

A look at the bar and lounge area, which you may or may not have heard is now the largest at Walt Disney World:

Now from the other side of the bar, looking into the dining room:

And now, a little bit of the dining room itself:

And back out into the lobby!

Supposedly there is still some decorating to be done, artwork and such.

More Contemporary to come!

Some various things around the Resort

They're relocating the coffee bar, Contemporary Grounds, to a new permanent (well, as much as it can get at Disney) location in the lobby. What's cool about it is that they'll also be baking fresh pastries each day!

Concept art, I'm sorry I couldn't avoid the glare:

A new ATM in the Grand Canyon Concourse, between the Monorail elevator and restrooms:

The Concourse Steakhouse:

In the week before The Wave was open, they had a similar sign up informing of breakfast at the California Grill and lunch at Chef Mickey's:

Behold! Nothing!

At present, the elevated walkway is physically connected to the new (censored for unrealistic denial of existence):

The ground here is marked DOOR OPENING 3'4", is it possible the walkway will be enclosed all the way into the Concourse, leaving this as a door into the stairwell? (There's a more detailed picture in my album)

If you press your nose to this image and cross your eyes, you just might be able to see Grand 1, and of course, EPCOT!

Thanks for the kind comments from everyone so far! I'm glad to hear you've enjoyed this little update. Please leave me any feedback or advice you might have, as this was my first photo update. And if you peruse my Contemporary June 2008 album, there are a couple extra photos there if you are interested. Take care!

Great pics - thanks (and good job on the photos :)).

I'm not a big bar person, but I could definitely see myself hanging out in the lounge at The Wave - spiffy!

two things to say....

1. these pictures make the Wave look....AWESOME. i'm dying to go there, now. i LOVE the entrance!

2. i think i'm going to buy into DVC the minute they start selling units for the Contemporary Tower.

The pics of The Concourse Steakhouse made me sad.
My wife and I got engaged, had our honeymoon, and celebrated our 5th, 10th, and 15th wedding anniversarys by having steak dinners there. We did, however, get to eat there and celebrate my wifes Birthday there last month just before they closed.
We will miss the place...so many fond memories.

Not a bar person here either but I would definitly check out that lounge. Looks like a great place to people watch. According to the sign though the hours are only til midnight? Seems kinda early for a nice place like that to close, especially on nights when parks are open til 12 or later.

The resort is getting a lot of TLC huh? Nice. Apart from that thing-that-isn`t-there next door. I have to say it would look marginally better if the opening in the `C` faced Seven Seas. At least then it wouldn`t look like a faceless office block to regular guests.

Thanks for the pictures it's good to see the resort getting modernized. I believe the the Steak House is becoming the new Grab & Go? What's happening to Chief Mickey's? That's the only place that now doesn't really fit the new design of the resort. Surely it will get a new design or be moved to a different resort? I would like to see it shifted to a larger new venue in DTD.
