Having read some of the stories in "It couldn't happen at WDW - could it" I started to lose some of my happy thoughts about WDW. So please please tell me what it is about WDW that makes you feel warm and squidgy inside:lol:

We're returning to WDW in October for the first time since we had children and I can't wait to see WDW from their perspective.

My happy thought, is parking in Happy 67, catching the monorail through the Contemporary resort and seeing and hearing the music and colour on Main Street USA for the first time.

So what's your happy thought:rolleyes:

Waking up from a comfy resort bed, staggering out the door on the way to refill your mug, and the THWOAR of the Florida heat and humidity, and the sight of people smiling, beginning another great day.

Aaaah. ;)

Im returning to WDW in September and for the 10 of the group thats going, 6 of the 10 are going for the 1st time, and 3 of the are children, i cant wait for them to be walking up Main St, seeing the castle and all the magic thats ive grown to love!!! :)

And watching them fall in love the way i have with my home from home.

Checking into the hotel, getting up to the room and turning the tv on to see the channel that shows WDW attractions etc, the first sign to say we are finally in Orlando!

I would probably say walking into the MK and seeing Main Street and the castle. That's Disney and it's always a magical moment for me. I can see everything in my head and trust me, I have to visit that one spot several times a week!!!!! Enjoy your trip.

I'm in the "driving through the gates" camp. My husband and I usually drive to WDW from Michigan, so it's two full days in the car (with a stop overnight in Chattanooga, TN). By the time we get to the FL state line, we're sick to death of being in the car and the anticipation starts to build. By the time we leave I-75 for the turnpike, I'm usually bouncing off the walls of the car with excitement, and when I see those gates welcoming you to the resort, I get goosebumps and feel like crying (happily) every single time.

I have quite a few so here you go in no particular order....

Walking through your resort early in the morning with the other early risers and everyone greeting each other like we're all old friends.

Seeing a child see Mickey for the first time

Walking through the left tunnel at the MK, getting assaulted by the smell of popcorn and stepping out onto Main Street U.S.A.

On the trips we have a car, driving back to the resort and getting to the guard gate and having the guard see the parking pass and saying "Welcome Home".

Seeing the look on my baby's face when we get to the MK. He's 21 now but when we enter the park, the look on his face is the same one he had when he visited WDW for the first time at age 6.

The first full day of our vacation always starts at the MK, and I have to see the opening show at the park. The excitement is building and it always brings a tear to my eye.

"Good morning, good morning... It's great to stay up late, good morning, good morning to you!"

We caught our favorite moments from our whole trip on two video clips. We tear up every time we watch them. It was our third time in MK but we had missed the 3pm parade every day so far so I was determined to make it on our 3rd and final day there.

In this clip my 18 month old was on my shoulders screaming "HI! HI! HI!" to all the characters and waved the entire parade. She just loved it all.

And in this clip I was shooting my 3 year old's reactions to the parade. She felt so special when the princesses blew her kisses and waved to her. We were definitely wrapped up in the magic! She still talks about it.

Thanks for letting me share! :)

OMG!!! How cute is your little girl on this clip?? You can just see the excitement on her face, I bet that’s a lovely memory when you take little ones to WDW. :)

Where to start my list...
I really am not a parade person, but I could watch Spectromagic for hours. The music just creates feelings I can't explain.
Driving under the WDW sign tells me I'm home.
The MK opening ceremony pumps me up for the day.
The music in Space Mountain always puts a smile on my face.
My big HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY moment in Philharmagic. My ears tear up every time I watch Philharmagic. It reminds me of everything Disney. :)

Oh...one last one.
We always drive down because we love the drive. At some point in the Carolinas these huge billboards for this store (whose name I can't remember) that apparently sells EVERYTHING pop up. That really lets me know I'm on my way home.

My happy thought is any memory I have of being in WDW.. When I'm at work and it's a crappy day, sometimes it's the only thing getting me through.. Remembering what it was like to walk down Main St. for the first time with my DH on our honeymoon, or getting crazy scared on TOT.. I could go on and on.. But just thinking about being there is the best... :D

I would have to agree with everyone else. I love the feeling of when you drive through the entrance, or see the castle. Walking down main street is a big one for me as well. I also love checking in to the hotel. A personal one for me is going on attractions with my sister. It reminds me of when we were kids. We are both in our thirties and we still act like little kids when we are there. Our spouses think that we are nuts. :sohappy:

My first post. Please be gentle... :)

My happy thought is in 12 days I will be "wheels up" with my family on our way to Disney. We have been several times before, but this will be the first time we fly into Orlando instead of driving for 12 hours.

I am really looking forward to arriving in Orlando in a "functional" state-of-mind, as opposed to having to take a day to "decompress" after driving.
