Dark Rides and 10 Month Old

My wife and I are planning a trip with our 10 month old. We were very curious about the "dark rides" we noticed that there are no official height or weight requirement. So i guess my question is can my 10 month old daughter ride them... in particular would be peter pan, winnie the pooh, IASW, snow white. Or even at DLR mr. toad, PDA, Alice, flying dumbos.

Or i guess the better question would be what cant she ride...

Thanks

Yes, your 10 month old can ride them the rides you mentioned. Are you questioning whether she will be frightened? Only you can be the judge of that as you are the one who knows your child. When our children were young, they were each around 14 months the first time we brought them. Neither one of them was afraid of any rides. The only thing our youngest son was afraid of was the characters the first time he saw them...but after about the second encounter, he was fine with them too.

I agree. There is nothing that is physically restrictive with any of the rides you mentioned. They may get frightened though by things that pop out or even the portrayal of certain scenes in the rides. Sometimes the ride can be loud to children also.

I agree, only you can be the judge of what your child can handle.

I just returned from Disney with a ten month old (she just turned 11 mo since we've been home). She's super laid back, so she was game for anything. If a ride got dark, she would just grab onto my shirt. But I took her on everything I could - Peter Pan, Snow White, Pooh, Philharmagic, Small World (her favorite), Haunted Mansion, TTA (this was a great ride to get her to sleep), Buzz, PoTC, Spaceship Earth, Nemo, Malestrom, Kilamenjaro Safari... Well, you get the picture!

I'll also chime in and agree all the rides you mentioned are most likely fine for a 10 m/o! When my cousin was one, the only ride she disliked and cried on was Snow White- but after a few minutes she was over her fear of the ride!:)

It varies by child, of course. I remember my youngest son's first trip. He was 4 months old. He didn't like the sun, so he wanted to be inside all the time. Of course, at four months, he was unphased by any of the rides.

My 2 1/2 year old, on the other hand, suddenly was bothered by the darkness of the dark rides he previously had been fine on. Just the whole darkness in the part where you're not supposed to be looking anyway. So my wife took the youngest and rode all the dark rides and I rode all the "outside" rides with our older son.

Not our favorite trip to WDW.

They got better :)

My husband was terrified of the witch in Snow White as a kiddie.

So was I! They've actually changed the ride part where the witch turns around so that it's not quite as bad. I was five at the time. My parents still talk about how after that ride I kept asking, "Is this going to be scary?" every time we got in any other queue.

I just want to make sure that there are no surprises when we are at DLR or WDW. I just want to make sure she can ride them. She is pretty much cool with everything and doesnt frighten very easily...
