AAA booking or Disney direct????

Well i just got off the phone with AAA, they are offering with dining, tickets, and room......300.00 less then what Disney quoted...

so now, whats the catch? lol
i just feel thats too good to be true, so can anyone help and give me the pros and cons with booking through AAA VS. Disney........

Probably no catch...Disney does offer attractive packages periodically through AAA and a few others. Just understand that any changes, follow-up etc. have to be through AAA, you can't access or change these packages through Disney. There are also some packages through airline partners periodically.

I still prefer coordinating through KingdomKonsultants however as they usually have access to good deals (although not AAA "packages"), and they are always available for changes or to help if something gets screwy...

I always get the best deals through AAA. And they have some great side benefits too... nothing beats the Diamond Parking!!

Disney always gives AAA a discount not only on rooms but onj their packages. You can only book a AAA package through AAA, directly with Disney you will only get a room discount that is why your getting a higher price from Disney. Disney does not sell AAA packages to the public.

Please keep in mind that when Disney releases their discounted packages, we have the same prices as AAA since Disney does not allow a discount on an already discounted package.

That's only when they discount a package to the general public. AAA packages are discounted all year long and if the special comes in at a better price AAA can change your package to accomodate that package also. Just depends on the time of year you are traveling. I think what you meant Pam was on a room only AAA discount you cannot just add the package to that.

My suggestion is, either way have a travel agent handle your reservations for you. They are on the phones with Disney every day, all day to check for specials, you could do this on your own, but it is not an easy feat. Travel agents do this at no charge to you and are real good at doing it.

Disney will not allow another discount to be applied to a package that they themselves are already discounting.

With the AAA room only discounts we can add tickets to that but it is treated like a separate purchase and the tickets must be paid in full at the time they are ordered.

You are 100% right on the specials. What I meant was, when no specials are running and you are booking a MYW Package, they will get a better price as AAA members through AAA. That is the cheapest way to go. Would I reccommend AAA???? Not really. They will always get better service through KK or Small World or any of the other agencies that specialize only in Disney. That's my opinion and I have worked with all of you in my 10 years at the res center in Orlando. AAA will never give the personalized service that you guys give. I would pay a little more to have one of you handling my reservations any day of the week.

To clarify...

Walt Disney World does offer various discount marketing offers exclusively to AAA Members for select dates throughout the year. Like any discount offer, this is not an entitlement but a marketing offer as there is only a limited number of rooms or packages available at each resort, for each date during the offer period.

The AAA room-only offer can be booked directly through the Disney Reservation Center or through any Travel Agency including AAA Travel Agents.

As Carolyn1717 stated, there are also a limited number of discount marketing offers for vacation packages (known as AAA Magic Moments Packages) but due to our contract with AAA, these offers can only be booked directly with a AAA Travel Agent.

As Kingdom Konsultant stated, discount marketing offers cannot be combined. One and only one discount offer can be applied to your reservation. If you book any other discount offer with a AAA travel agent, your total price will be the same as it would be if booked directly with the Disney Reservation Center or any other non-AAA travel agency.
