Disney Movie Club?

There was a video store close to my house. But it was shut down by the mall a few months back. The next closest is 7 miles away. With gas prices I dont see it as worth it anymore. So I want disney movies. I decided to join the Disney Movie Club and did so this past week.

Anyone else a member? Anything good or bad to say about it?

I have been a member for several years and like it. Once you fulfill the obligation you become a VIP. Most months if you pay full price for a movie, you get to pick one for 1/2 off. It works out well for us cause with two kids they each get to pick a movie. The latest releases are about two months behind but that's okay. We usually buy the new release at Target and use the DMC to order others. I've been happy with it. It has helped my son discover some of the older movies like Blackbeards Ghost as well as the latest Mickey Mouse Clubhouse for my daughter. We also love sing-along songs and they carry them.

I might have joined, but oddly they don't carry Blu-Ray - my format of choice these days.

I know I will have to eventually turn to blu-ray but for now I am holding out against it as long as possible. I hate Sony and try to avoid supporting them as much as possible. Hard to do especially when WDC and other corporations use them for so many things.

I have been a member for about 3 years. So far I have enjoyed it. And like Mouser said, once you fulfill the first year's obligation, technically you can remain a member and never have to buy another movie from them again if you don't want to. I also use it to get some older movies, and buy new releases elsewhere. Being VIP gives you better deals. Obviously it makes more sense to go buy a movie at a store instead of through the club if you are only getting one movie. Most movies after shipping are around 26 dollars. You can find them much cheaper in the stores. So make sure you take advantage of any deals they offer once you fulfill your membership obligation.
Actually today was the first day I did not like being in it because I accidentally forget reply to the featured title and they automatically charged my credit card and sent me a movie I already have. I realize I can return it, but paying money to return something I never wanted kind of irks me. But I suppose this was my own fault.
My advice is to just stay on top of replying to those featured titles to avoid this happening.

I realise we're in different countries and the rules may be different, but here in Canada if I receive a package I didn't order or got by mistake I can re-seal it and put "Return to Sender, not ordered" and the sender is responsible for the return shipping costs.

I'm a Columbia house member and they allow me to change my account preferences to not automatically send the "Club choice" unless I say no, now I only get movies if I physically order them. You should check is Disney has the same option...

Hi Shere Kahn Just so you know I do that also. In the USA it works too. If I forget to reply just seal it back up and write return to sender. I get notified by email in a week that they received and are crediting my account. Doesn't cost a cent to mail it back.

Do I take it to the post office?
I live in an apartment complex. I don't believe they pick up mail from us. There is a blue USPS postal drop box down the street where I drop any mail.
So how do I do that?

I put the brown envelope in my mailbox and they take it. Write it in big letters "Return to Sender". Maybe drop it into a regular mailbox. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the tips.
The mailman comes into our work each day to drop off and pick up. Maybe I will ask him if he will take it for me and see what he says about it.
