Waaaaay too many of these, they are becoming less special and closing the MK so early that many days is unfair to people coming for vacation who want to experience MK at night more than once.

I sort of agree. As much as I love going to the P&P, I think having this many makes it not as special. I mean, mnsshp and mvmcp are just 2 months long (mnsshp Sept/Oct, and mvmcp Nov/Dec).

But I don't think Disney cares how special it is as a whole, because they know that most people will only attend one of these per year at the most, so to the people attending that night, it will be special to them. It all comes down to financial terms and you can be assured that if they were not making a profit on these, they would have been discontinued before now.

They are making a profit now, because the P&P are still very new and many folks hadn't had a chance to go to one. However, to me who goes 6 + times a year and has attended a P&P, don't feel the need to attend another one any time soon or in the next few years if that. Also, many locals probably have recently attended because of the great price break they offered AP holders last year to buy tickets for this Feb/March and it was like 35-40% off the price, but I guarantee they will not be forking out money any time soon again for another P&P because even at a price break, to take a family of four it isn't cheap.

I agree entirely about it not being cheap. (I'll soon be forking out $154.00 for three tickets myself!) I was just noting that they have them becuase they make money. As you posted, if Disney sees a decrease in profit--not necessarily attendance--they'll drop the quickly. I think that is the reason they had dates where MK closed so early for the next few months before announcing the actual parties. If the parties for January-March were not selling, they would not have announced dates for April-early June.

Well this allows more guests to experience PAP (a fitting acronym if you ask me). While there are more dates, there not a frequent as MNSCHP or MVMCP

Here is two things that I'm not sure if it was or was not mentioned in the two threads...

1. They will no longer do the X marks the spot for the beads and treasure.
(You will still get these but when you do interactive activites.)

2. Jack Sparrow may no longer be Pirate and Princess Party meet and greet only.

Well, that could be a good thing about Captain Jack (if he is out more, that is).
