Ok after Xmas break and my preteen Daughter watching Disney channel 24/7 I have to say I really miss the old programming.

I totally understand they had to revamp it make it "cool" to survive with the likes of Nick and other channels that were gettting more view time than Disney but what I wouldnt give for the old channel for one week.....

I miss...

D-Tv
Vault Disney
Zoro
Scarecrow
Danger Bay
White Fang

AND MORE IMPORTANT...

The Shows about the parks and Imagineering.

Disney Inside-Out

and the 5-10 minutes shorts between shows like" Imagine" that always showcased new attractions at Epcot and other Disney Parks.

And all the specials about Walt.....

If you showed 99% of the Disney Channel viewers a pic of Walt they would have no clue who he was....

I agree completely. I loved Vault Disney.

I also loved when they would just play their old cartoons through out the day. I wish they would play some of the classic stuff later on at night for the adults who enjoy their old programming.

It is amazing how the thrown together shows, classic shows and movies etc of a new cable channel are often better then the new programing done once the network is off the ground. Remember comedy central when it first hit cable with shows like Almost live, Short Attention Span Theater, Kids in the hall or MTV when they use to play music? About the only cable channel that I can think of that has really improved with age is the Discovery channel.

I have the first 2 seasons, but need the rest.

I wish MTV would release The State on DVD.
What ever happened to that show? While not as good as Kids in the Hall it was still a great show. Didn't they do 2 seasons on MTV then decide that they were to good for cable, went to network and never got past the pilot?

Fellow Star Wars fan here!

Yeah, MTV was really weird about The State. I heard it was coming out, but still haven't seen anything. Their other stuff (Viva Variety, the movie Wet Hot American Summer, and of course Reno 911) is all good, but I really miss that show.

Barry and Lavon
Doug
Louie

Great characters.

Way off topic but I kind of owe you a thank you. In another thread you mentioned a few books that continued the stories for both the Dark Crystal and Labyrinth. My wife loves both movies and I picked the books up for her for Christmas and she loved them.

Do you ever make it to SWW at MGM?

No -I have been trying to go for last few years.
My 10 year old son is huge on Star Wars too. Would have been nice bonding time. We moved here to Indy 2 years back from Florida.Right before we left to come here there was a HUGE SW Convention here but we missed that. Was hoping it would be every year here-but was only one time.BUMMER:cry:

We go to SWW every year and they are a blast. They are getting a bit crowded as of late but they are still a heap of fun.

Cool SW story..... When I was kid around 7 or 8 I was in the Hospital for a week-had surgery-double Hernia. My Dad was in Advertising( we lived in Miami at the time). He knew that I loved SW so he comes in the the room FULL STORMTROOPER UNIFORM. Im not talking about some cheap costume store rental -it was a real one.He had connections at the time through his Advertising/Media company . He brougt me a letter from"Darth Vader" wishing me luck on my Surgery.(Of Course it was his handwritting)

You know, I used to go to every SWW since the first one, this year was the first I have missed. But I agree, they are beginning to get very crowded. Back when they had them in May it wasn't too bad, but last year when I went it was packed.

Lots of fun though, I really enjoy the SWW. I love to see waht logo they come up with next.

That is a great story!

I'm a Star Wars nut and little by little I've been introducing my daughters to the films. My oldest, who turns 2 in a month, the other day I was watching the movies and when she saw R2-D2 and C3-P0 on the TV she ran into her room and came running back with her toys I gave her. It was awesome.

My youngest is 3 months so she has some way to go, but last night I was feeding her her bottle and she was watching it with me.
