Epcot 25th Task Team

What do you supposed the Epcot 25th Task Team has been up to?

They meet on Wednesdays, around lunchtime, and have been doing so since early/mid June.

There's a decent number of people in the group. I guess all the "powers that be." They all fit in a conference room together.

I wonder what they do... Suppose they talk about us crazy Epcot-fans? Our little unofficial get-together plans?

I like to think they nibble on candies from a glass candy dish in the middle of the table shaped like Spaceship Earth (it's really an award that broke but no one had the heart to throw it out) and watch slide shows of "ye olde Epcot" interjected with powerpoint presentations of guest interest studies.

Any ideas what they're up to?

They're figuring out how they will do a crowd control around the flower of power logo when you all meet there in October.

They are coming up with different slogans for the 25th.

One of them I think they tossed around was: "Plz forgive us 4 forgetin' about E to dah C's 25th ya me?"

They are seeing what merchandise will be creates i.e. shirts, pins, and 50,000 more figment plushs.

They're not doing any of this, but rather just talking about us Epcot freaks and how the 25th anniversay celebration will be like a 3 minute announcement at the parks opening. :eek:

They're talking about better ways to keep future upgrades under tarps and away from the merfs prying camera lens.

Maybe they are considering if they do the rope drop that day with the Space Mickey and the gang (the one that look like Rainbow Brite costume)

I always assumed they were doing just what I do at lunchtime...listening to Horizons and browsing WDWMagic.

You mean this might not be the case? :confused:

Heh heh...i would like to think that ........i mean, originally Disney announced there was NOTHING planned. Then our little fan Event came to light...and boom: It's all about the 25th now!

It would be cool to know if we had something to do with that.......

I think the "Epcot 25" gang are sitting around in the conference room trying to figure out what cool collectibles they can come up with to sell to US, the group that is coming! Ha ha ! Hey, i would buy a bunch a stuff if it was all "RetroCot"!

I would bet the fan get together has come up at some point, and I'm sure how to deal with it was once discussed. Merchandising is probably another topic.

I would like to think at this point they'd be smoothing out the details of their 'surprise event' for fans (not just CMs) that is going to put smiles on our faces. Where the podium is going to be for the announcement, what speakers are going to be there, when and where the tapestry of nations parade will be and who will be involved. Who is going to play Dreamfinder for the ceremony. You know, all the necessary arrangements...

Well i hope they are not thinking we are going to be a bunch of out of control nuts coming to lay waste to the place....or even worse, a bunch of "SG's"! :eek:

No sir, we are a dignified and dedicated bunch who has a undying passion for EPCOT and want to honor it's 25th Birthday in style and grace. :king:

Naturally they want to be prepared for whatever is to come.....and we have to remember to respect that and be on our best behaviour while joining in the fun.

I have a very good feeling there may well be even more surprises revealed that day once we are all there!
