Halloween Night- Not MNSSHP

On Halloween Night if you're not attending MNSSHP, what is the most enjoyable way to spend the evening? We'll be down at the World from 10/31-11/4. We're attending MNSSHP on 11/2 to take advantage of the DVC discount, so we're looking for a good way to spend Halloween evening with our 8 and 1 year old daughters. Any suggestions you can give would be greatly appreciated!

There is trick or treating at DTD but it gets quite crowded and there is always the option of the Haunted Hayride at Fort Wilderness but you will need to be there way early to buy tickets as they are only sold day of and there is very limited seating.

We arrived at WDW last fall on Halloween and didn't go to MNSSHP, but we should have.

We went to DTD instead. Dinner at the Ragland Road was great...good food, good music...however, and I won't go into details, we hated the Adventurer's Club. After reading all the posts here as well as a website or two, the wife and I thought the AC would be a lot of fun. It wasn't.

I'd try the MNSSHP just for the costumes and rides...you'll probably spend the same amount for the MNSSHP tix as you would at DTD anyway....

my 2 cents....

I think MGM has a special Halloween party, but it is geared more to adults.
I believe you can attend w/ park admission.

I don't know about this year, but in the past, lots of the different resorts have Halloween activities. Boardwalk had Trick-or-Treating and other things for kids to do, and Fort Wilderness had a Jack 'o lantern decorating contest as well as the campfire with spooky stories, and the Halloween themed nightly movie.

We will be enjoying a (hopefully) uncrowded evening at Epcot's F&W festival on the 31st, after doing the FW campfire (and possibly Haunted Hayride) the night before. We will finish up our Halloween fun the same night as you, OP, at the MNSSHP on the 2nd.

Does anyone know if SSR will be doing anything special on Halloween night? (It will be our first night staying at our home resort as DVC members.) It seems like the best bet would be going over to DTD. If so, where would be the best place to eat their with our daughters ( 8 and 1), and are there any can't miss DTD goings on on Halloween night?

Thanks again!
