Since the castle is North (which would be behind the photographer) and the train station is south (which we are facing in this photo) the left side of the photo is East.

Yep. The show itself is not lit so a sudden flash might blind an actor and I can see why they ask for this one tat no pictures are taken. But it is a great show. See it if you can.
