I need your help fellow wdwmagiceers!

The past few times when I make my annual pilgramidge to the vacation kingdom, I usually stay offsite at a family member's house and we commute in and do one park for one day every other day.

However this year, they might not go to WDW, however are willing to drop us off and pick us up.

Is there anywhere, downtown disney for example, that an "outsider" can get a bus, say to Epcot and back to downtown disney without having to stay onsite? Also how much does the bus cost? Thanks!

Head over to the boardwalk. You can be dropped of and then walk to Epcot from there, walk or take the boat to MGM and catch a bus to both the MK and DAK. When stopped at the security gate all they have to say is they are dropping you off &/or picking you up or going to eat/shop. This is a public area so there should be no problems. There is free self parking in case they have to wait for you (or they can valet park for a fee). You could also hang out and enjoy the boardwalk's atmosphere or grab a bite to eat.

Best of luck and enjoy your vacation.

Er...what tigsmom said :D

The same could theoretically be true for any of the resorts, with the exception of Swan and Dolphin where you have to pay to park (which means most likely, a driver has to pay to enter or exit the parking lot). Some of the more deluxe resorts might ask if you have meal reservations before letting someone on the lot, for fear you intend to park there to avoid paying the parking fee in the theme park's lots. That's usuallt resolved by giving someone a 3-hour temporary parking permit, and if your friends are only dropping you off, no worries there. Boardwalk is probably your best bet as they do have more restaurants, shopping, entertainment and other "general public" kind of things than other resorts. But if you're concerned, you can always try the mods or value resorts.

Other option - see if you can get dropped off in any of the "monorail resorts" parking lots and take the monorail over to Epcot. And yes, they can always drop you off at DTD.

Why don't you have them just drop you off at the park you are going to? Tell the CM at the gate and they will direct you to a drop off area, your driver will not get a parking pass and will not have to pay. It seems a lot easier than going to DTD then to a resort then to a park.

They have a drop off area expressly for that. When you tell the CM at the parking booth, they will direct you where to go - it does not connect to the parking lot, rather a specific lane where you can get dropped off, and then whoever is driving leaves without really entering the parking area.

I am pretty sure Epcot has a drop-off area separate from the parking lot, over near the bus stops.

I'm not sure about the Studios but if you enter off Buena Vista Drive there are only 2 lanes and I believe they both lead only to the parking lot. There is a way for taxis and busses to go, maybe that's where they will direct drop-offs. I'm not sure how it works entering from World Drive.

MK's drop-off is clearly marked at the TTC just off Seven Seas Drive (just before you come to the Poly). There is no MK drop-off spot near MK itself but dropping off at the Contemporary is an option.

AK I am not sure about either, I seem to think that all the toll plaza booths lead directly into the parking lot. Dropoff at AKL might be your best bet.

Someone please correct me if anything I said is wrong.
